New mama wants to lose weight!

Hi there I'm a brand new mama of a beautiful baby boy who is now 2mnths old and I want to get back at losing some weight!!

I was over weight before I got pregnant, and have managed to do very over the course of my pregnancy. I only gained the recommended 25lbs yay! And I am 4lbs lower than my pre-preg weight now!!! I am currently at 179.5lbs and want to be at around 140lbs, my goal weight. It's going to be very hard but I think I can do it. I thought it was hard before but now the crazy lack of sleep, having no time for myself ( baby is very cranky) and just trying to get simple things done is a huge challenge...so this could be interesting!

I'm looking for anyone who wants to join me as I could really use some help. My husband is overweight too so I hope by my losing weight and just living a healthier lifestyle he will be motivated and become healthier himself! I want to be here for a long time for my little boy and see him grow up!! He deserves the best mama possible!!

Hi Cat!!! Sorry I haven't been on, our computer was mia for a little while! But I'm back and ready to go!! I haven't been doing very well. I've been eating way too much ice cream. But I've made a meal plan and I am going grocery shopping tonight. I need to call the gym and get my membership going. I bought a surf shirt to wear over my bathing suit so I can go to aquasize. What are your plans for the physical fitness part. I have to do things that are fun or I know I won't stick with it!!!

mind if I join in too? I've got a 1 month and a 21 month old daughter, and I'm really needing people to hold me accountable for my weight loss. so far I've been doing okay, but if I actually REALLY paid attention to what I was eating, and stoped making excuses for not working out, I'm sure I'd be doing a lot better.

Hi everyone. I'm a new(ish) mum too! Although she is growing far too quick!!! Tia is 8 months old now, and i've been trying to diet since xmas. Its very hard . . . i suppose its harder especially with the first! I seemed to do really well one week. . . eating healthy and going on my xmas treat (cross-trainer). Then tia would change her routine, or have teething pain, or a growth spurt etc, and it would all go terribly terribly wrong.

However, I have been very good cutting down on portion sizes, not eating as much rubbish and been on my cross trainer for 20 mins per day . . . 5 days running now!!! And today was supposed to be my day off!

I'm investing on decent scales, because I have two sets and both disagree! I was overweight when I got pregnant, and have only added one stubborn stone which i don't think is too bad despite all the sausage rolls i ate over the 9 months!

My best advice to anyone trying to work out, is if you have home gym equipment, use it. I find tia's morning nap the best time (also gives me an excuse to find time for a shower each day)! Oh and always have a glass of water to hand, great if you get peckish in the middle of a feed!

Just need to keep going . . . aiming at 140 lbs, so think thats going to mean losing between 60-70 lb depending what my new scales say!!!

Sorry for waffling

Jen x

Hi there my baby is going to be 6 months on the 11th and I am basically the same weight as you now and we have the same target goal.
If your baby is cranky your should get a wrap, sling or baby bjorn it usually helps-with that you will basically carry your baby around all day and burn extra calories plus have 2 free hands to you your normal things around the house. Also try to go walking alot it seem like alot of babies love the fresh air and you get alot of excercise in that way.

Hello ladies. well as you can see from my ticker Im nearly half way there, although Im a bit disapointed that sinse I did my last weight in I have gone up 2lb even though I have been good, so I think that low weight was just a fluke inacurate reading. Still Its been hard. I have been to physio and my stomach muscles are 3 fingers seperated still so Im very limited in what exersices I can do. Although Pilates and Swimming will really work to relevent core muscles.

I went and looked round a few local gyms thay have pools the other week and have decided to jion one and OH will be joining too. we have managed to get differnt family members to help out with childcare, while we go together, so it will be a nice break from the kids for me and a nice way for us to spend time together as a couple to as well as getting in shape. Shame it costs £43 a month

Will be joining at the end of the month as we have a load of building work going on at the mo making it all a bit chaotic. But I have gone out and treated myself to some new trainers and clothes to wear to the gym.

I had my first child a year ago and I gained over 25 lbs. To get the weight off I had to stick to a strict diet and do cardio 3x per week. Running on an empty stomach in the morning worked great, as it instantly promoted fat loss.

The only problem was that after workout I would be extremely hungry and often negate the great workout by eating poorly. I used Hoodia as a supplement to suppress my cravings. Check the link in my signature below to learn how it works.

I would also suggest eating about 6 small meals per day, with solid protein, as this will boost your metabolism.

I'll join you aswell, I can always do with extra motivation! I got 10 more kilos to lose until im at my Pre-twin-pregnancy weight and then another 15 until I reach my target goal of 65 kilos! so with 25 kilos to move you can count me in

I'd really like to join you. My son is 3 weeks old. I have 6 lb to get to my pre preg weight but i was overweight before anyway. I'd like to lose 70 lb in 8 months, thats 2 lb per week. I have been watching what I eat, walking for at least 2 hours 3 days a week and playing for at least 30 mins every day on my nintendo Wii- the sports game. Ive only been seriously doing this for the past week or so, so I cant wait to see the results

Lol, I can not wait until the Wii Fit game comes out for the Wii. It looks really interesting and fun! YouTube - Wii Fit -- full trailer from E307
