Has anybody tried or done weightwatchers?

Im starting weightwatchers today also with as much exercise as I can possible fit in! (I have a 5 month old baby so I am very busy lol)
I have a couple of questions I hope nobody minds me asking...
Does drinking lots of water speed up weight loss or help?
Does not eating after 7pm help you lose those pounds?
How much exercise a day will help speed up weight loss?
I know that the average weight loss a week for weight watchers is 1lb but (without sounding greedy lol) I would like to lose alot more than that.
I have 56lbs to lose! (thats how much I gained during pregnancy)

I have lost 14lb in 5 weeks following WW points for breast feeding moms. I am not going to the meetings but I am following the plan. I work out 3 nights a week at the gym and walk for 40 minutes 4-5 days a week. I have a 2 month old and a 17 month old both are boys. Good luck at your first weigh in!

I have done weight watchers before and if I would have stuck with the program I probably would have lost weight. I think that drinking plenty of water helps keep you from feeling hungry. I try to go walking every day for 30 min. It is so hard to lose weight! Are you breastfeeding? That makes it even more difficult for me. Good luck!

It helps keep the edge of your appetite and stops you drinking high-calorie drinks when thirsty.

I lived in Europe for a few years and can guarantee this is a myth. They eat really late and are really skinny.

I haven't tried WeightWatchers but am going to as my Mum and sister both had success.

The only way I've found to exercise with by baby is disco dancing in front of her

Now I'm really serious about losing that pregnancy weight (8 months post-partum) I've created a survey to see what's helped other people lose weight at OpinionDB:
Answer a series
It'll be interesting to see what works.

I have done weightwatchers and I think its a good balanced program, provided you don't eat all your points in one spot every day junking out, lol. I personally thought it was one of the better programs out there that advocates healthy eating choices while saying its only human to splurge once in a while. They even build it in the program with extra flex points, which I loved. It's a nice alternative for people sick of counting calories...you're still counting them but its like "oh fun new points instead", lol

I wasn't big on the groups though but I think I just had bad luck, I know there are good ones out there. Plus I'm a cheap butt and didn't want to fork out the money. If anyone is cheap like me though and wants to do the program, just wait until they do their "free to join" promo, get all the tools then quit :X I still have all my stuff, lol

As far as eating after 7 goes, I agree with others that have posted...there isn't a magic numbered time to stop eating to lose pounds. That works for alot of people simply because of the "STOP eating" part, lol. I work night shifts so my eating times are very different and I still lose weight. I do however think its not good to stuff yourself before bed then sleep on it.

Good luck

Hi...and good luck to ya..I'm sure you will reach your goal..I know people that were on weight watchers and yeah they lose the weight but they most always gain it back at one point. It's not a life plan.

The key to losing weight is a change in lifestyle..that means a good balance of diet and excercise the you can stick with for life. Use an online calculator to figure out what your caloretic daily needs are and subtract 300-500 cals from that and you will lose weight. I know counting calories stinks but it does work and is the best way. Eat balanced meals 5-6 times a day (proteins, carbs and good fats). I understand your excercise is limited but grab some free weights at walmart and do some strength training along with some cardio at home. I work-out 4 times a week for 1hr each session. Thats only 4hrs a week.
Eating after 7 pm is fine as long as you are in your calorie intake for the day.

Weight Watchers worked VERY well for my friend who lost all of her baby weight (after 2 babies). She stuck to it very much and now runs 20K marathons. I know that's not for everyone, but the most important thing is finding something you like, will stick to and is easy to do even with a busy household. I found Weight Watchers to be quite easy to do (especially with all the tools they provide you with). There;s not as much work involved with counting calories endlessly (I have tried that in the past also) and eventually you know points just from memory. Writing things down helps tremendously as you get a visual perspective on what you are consuming through out the day. Keep to it and jump on line every one in a while to get inspiration when you feel you need it. All the best and good luck!

(i'm not a new mum but hopeuflly it's alrite if i comment here :P )

I've just joined the online weight watchers and i'm finding it really good and easy to do, easier than counting calories. It's good because u cn eat what u want, but obviously the healthier it is the more u can eat usually.

I know a girl who's got a baby and she joined an dlooks really amazing now because she's lost lots of weight.

I have been doing weight watchers for 3 months and 1 week, I have lost 12.3lbs and I absolutely love the program. I don't avoid any foods, but just eat the correct portion size. I love going to the meetings and getting ideas and support from the other members. My leader is the best and has lost 85lbs herself so she can relate to us on a lot of levels. I would suggest the program to anyone who wants to learn how to eat healthy, get control of their portions, and make good friends along with getting support!

Not a new mom,but a mom doing weight watchers

HI SAMS MUMMY,I JUST JOINED THIS SITE TODAY AND FIND IT VERY INTERESTING AND HELPFUL..I'VE BEEN DOING WEIGHT WATCHERS SINCE MARCH 08..SO FAR I'VE LOST 36LBS..IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET USED TO,BUT IF YOU'RE FOCUSED IT WILL WORK..THE HARDEST PART IS WRITTING EVERYTHING DOWN..MY MOTTO FOR THAT IS "DON'T BITE IT UNTIL U WRITE IT"...I'VE FOUND WRITTING WHAT I EAT BEFORE I EAT IT HELPS ALOT..TRY NOT TO USE THOSE 35 ALLOWANCE POINTS UNLESS U REALLY NEED THEM...STAY HYDRATED AND GOOD LUCK

I started WeightWatchers 6 months after my first child was born (This was more than 4 years ago). It worked like a charm. I never really considered it a "diet"... WW taught me portion control and to make healthy choices. On average, I lost 1-2 pounds a week until I reached my goal. I kept the weight off for 4 years! I just had my second child a little over 8 weeks ago, but I will post somewhere else for that (I can't seem to lose the weight this time around). Good luck.
