I know how hard it is!!! Start losing weight by increasing your Metabolism! I lost over 50 Lbs this way, and nothing before has worked for me. Somebody here promised to get a new thread for this topic So if I do not find it there, I probably will start it myself and post there what I did and how it works.
Good luck everyone! Your babies are soooo cute! |

So I got pregnant and being anemic and on bed rest toward the end of my pregnancy I gained 70 lbs! Yeah, I'm not happy about it. Elizabeth is almost 5 months and I've only lost the initial 15 lbs and no matter what I do I can't seem to stop eating. I'm hungry all the time and I don't eat the right stuff b/c I talk myself out of it and I'm tired. I'm so frustrated I don't even know where to start now. Since I'm breastfeeding and have had a difficult time keeping my supply up I'm afraid to change my diet. Again I'm frustrated. I'm determined to lose it but I really don't know who to talk to about this since on top of everything I've just moved out of state with my husband and know maybe a handful of people.
I don't want to vent, but I'm just feeling overwhelmed by this. I feel like all I need is someone other than my husband telling me that I can do this, b/c my mom just tells me that I will start dropping the weight soon. I don't know if I gained all this weight b/c I used to weigh so much, I mean it wasn't like I was sitting there eating an entire package of oreo's or junk food either. (sounds like i've got a lot of excusses)
Help! | I know this post is from October, but...
At the time you wrote this, it was only 4 months since you had your baby. 4 months isn't really that long, especially in respect to losing baby weight. I'm not a woman, so I don't know what it's like to have extra baby weight on my body (although, I am a chubby SOB, so maybe it's close?) but I think you just have to be patient.
Every pregnant woman that I've ever known goes through a rough time, both physically and mentally. Think of it this way...you spent 9 months gaining all of that weight, so it will probably take more than that to lose it. Don't get discouraged. Listen to your husband...you can do it (Rob Schneider voice). And hey, just to help yourself out, get your husband to work out with you. I mean, he's half the reason you gained the weight in the first place...that jerk!
Good luck. |

Rep Power: 17 | | I don't know about what kind of exercise your doing but with my first i had a really hard time losing weight. he's 4 1/2 and now i have a almost 6 month old. i lost weight before having both of them but now am still above where is started either of my pregnancies. at first i had lost weight after birth too but then after i started slowly gaining. i am currently at 237.8 which is 2.8 lbs above what i was when found out i was preggo with my youngest son. so far i'm eating healthy and drinking tons of water. breastfeeding while it takes a lot of work your body needs plenty of water to replenish what your baby is taking so make sure to drink up. I was told by my doc that while breastfeeding you need to drink 24-36 oz more water a day then what you would if you were not breastfeeding to lose weight. I'm at the almost 6 month mark of breastfeeding and while my supply is really low i am still producing and now that i have started drinking more water it seems like my supply is getting better too. |

I'm not saying it's easy, and you probably won't lose the weight without some kind of change. But it IS possible. | Exactly what she said. I gained 80lbs when I was pregnant with my son, and no it is not easy to lose the added weight, but in order to do it you have to make changes. You have to exercise and you have to eat healthy and control your portion sizes. Just *thinking* about losing weight will not make you drop some pounds. You have to want to do this and you have to want to make a change. I started 6 weeks after I had him because I wanted that weight GONE! It's been 16months and I have lost 88lbs so far. I am under my pre-pregnancy weight and let me tell you it feels like a giant weight was lifted off my shoulders [literally too]. It's hard work but if you want it that bad then you will make change and it will happen. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I used to have a lot of weight when I was pregnant also after giving birth but I manage to lose it within 5-6 months and it works pretty good. You have to be patient and keep continue, don't give up easily. You'll see the result if you do it little by little everyday, it'll all be add up by time. Lose 50 pounds in 6 months |

Rep Power: 2 | | Some women are just lucky to lose the baby weight! In your case to makes matters workse you have a little baby... and she probably wakes up at night and by the next day you are tired and craving carbs because you didnt get a good night of sleep.
Give yourself another month or so or until your baby starts with solid food and sleep all night... that will give you more energy and you wont crave carbs as much.
Also, go for a long walk everyday your baby will love and and will be great for you.... also... just dont buy foods that will make you put on pounds... I had to do that too... it is NOT easy at first but you can do it.
I gained almost 70lbs during my pregnancy as well and while I was breastfeeding I did not lose anything! it was so frustating! Then I joined WW because they have a program for breastfeeding mothers (you just add 10 points to your daily amount of points and drink A LOT of water.
I also noticed that if I planned my meals and cooked on the weekends while hubby was home to help it was easier for me to keep tracy of my calorie intake (saturday plan all the weekly menu go shopping - cook and freeze the meals - very easy to do but takes some getting used to it)
YOu will feel more motivated when you start to see the lbs melting off. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I have a friend who recently gave birth to her first child, a beautiful baby girl. However, she felt total despair for about a month or so, over her struggle with the post pregnancy fat on her tummy, hips, thighs and her bum. She has since lost 50 pounds and is back down to her pre-pregnancy weight of 130 lbs., after working out 3-4 times per week and only 45 min per day. She basically has a routine where obviously she pays strict attention to detail regarding her diet, and she works out daily in a neat pair of weighted workout shorts that she found on eBay. She has this routine where she’ll throw on her weighted workout shorts after work, and pop in her favorite Slim in 6 workout video and that’s it. This duo combines fat burning cardio with light resistance. She has managed to drop the weight in record time and keep it off. You may be able to find both products on eBay. I’m so proud of her for her no nonsense approach. She also uses Fitness.com as a reference for different exercises that address the same problem areas. Good luck in your pursuit! Becky |

Rep Power: 89 | | | I could have written this post..lol. My daugher is nearly 6mo old and I have actually gained back almost 15lbs since giving birth. I lost 27 of the 33lbs I gained while pregnant, and then gained back the 15. Very frustrating. I thought breastfeeding would make it come off easily, but it seems I'm always hungry. I'm going to try upping my water intake as some have suggested and see if that works. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
