Rep Power: 0 | | | Depressed - help me :( Hey you guys..
i'm a momma of a 6 1/2 month old.. i was here in this forum before, that was when she first was born... i lost a good amount of lbs.. about 25,30.. and then i kinda let myself go again.. i went through a rough time (him leaving me but he came back and blabla) and loosing my best friend, weight was just the last thing on my mind....
now, that kinda my problems faded/dissolved themselves my mind set itself on losing weight again - which is oh so depressing.. i was weighing myself this morning, noticing that i gained a good 10lbs again.. shoot. seriously.
i dont know how i seriously can bring up that strength again to lose another good 40 lbs... i just totally feel so ugly ugly ugly unattractive nasty and ugly...
you guys were my motivation before, can someone please help me out once again.. .
i am 5'2 weighing 154 pounds. My goal is a healthy 120 or 110... |

Rep Power: 217 | | | you gotta find the motivation from within yourself...
Why do you want to lose weight? find those reasons and answers within your self and write them down... and look at them regularly...\
and take it one step at a time... change one habit... and work from there... |

Rep Power: 11 | | I agree all the motivation should come from yourself for the most part. you need to want it so bad you would happily change your lifestyle. before you know it it's completely natural and you couldnt imagine not living like that.
Do the easiest things first then keep improving...
I find it's best to start with your diet as ive tried just "watching what i eat" and working out every day and that just didnt work for me... it could for you but thats my advice.
right now i eat whatever i want within the constraints of 2000 calories but I am working to have a healthier diet to fill those 2000 calories with a whole nother kind of food. so far it's working for me. I know eventually i'm going to have to lower my intake more as my body requires less so i'm trying to prepare myself for that with a change of food...
You CAN do it. You just have to REALLY want to. you have to want to so bad that you don't have a choice not to... and you will with time and effort.
Good Luck and keep trying you'll get there... Don't sweat it, there are worse things in life then gaining 10 Lbs. If thats the worst thing in your life right now count your blessings and buck up my dear... |

Rep Power: 7 | | If you want this then live it, breathe it, be it.
Plan it. Accept what you see in the mirror right now, accept the future, accept your plan once you have designed it, accept your new foods, your new exciting exercise workout. And start counting down to that old self that is in still there.
Have plan B's for everything, don't let anything stand in your way. As a mother I have plan, cook, freeze weekly meals in advance that cater for all of our needs and I plan an exercise schedule which constantly gets interrupted (I have plan B's with dvds, free weights etc. when i have a second to myself). But I do it, I somehow find time, I prioritize, and i feel and look good because of it.
Make yourself feel beautiful everyday with the body you have now. Start pampering each part of your body right now. Nails, hair, skin, moisturize. Appreciate and love yourself. You are actually beautiful right now, losing weight is only going to be a bonus of a healthier version of yourself.
Believe in yourself. Good luck. |

Yes, motiviation is the key. I just had my second baby 3 months ago (he just turned 3 months on the 4th of January). With my first pregnancy, I gained 55 pounds! I was always a very small person and for me to carry around all the extra weight was depressing. The sad thing, I didn't realize I was "big". Foolishly, I slipped on an old pair of my shorts and couldn't get them up past my knees! I knew I had to do something. It took me a good 8-9 months, but I lost the weight with my first child and kept it off for 3 1/2 years! I did Weight Watchers for 12 weeks then did my own thing till it all came off.
Now with my second child, I gained 35 pounds (of which 15 pounds was pure baby "fat"). So, I don't have as much to lose this time around. The thing that keeps me going is that I lost it after my first pregnancy and I'm determined to lose it after my second! I have about 12 pounds I still need to lose to get into my pre-pregnancy clothes. It's taken me 3 months to only lose 3 pounds! I know this is going to be a hard fight for me as well, but I'm not giving up! Even if it means I'm only losing 1 pound a month.
Don't give up. It WILL come off. It may take you a little longer or it may happen more quickly than you expected it to, but just don't give up.
We have another thread going on this 'New Moms' board. It's called WeightLoss Buddy (or something close to that). Another motivated mom named Charito started the thread. If you're looking for constant motivation and a buddy, why don't you join our thread? The more the merrier.
Good luck to you!

Rep Power: 0 | | Maria, thanks so much for sharing your story... It feels good to hear success stories that gives me hope and strength that I can do the same.. Sometimes I just cant believe in myself thinking that I can really get this weight off.. It seems so surreal..
I was never really skinny but I was normal curved. I had a healthy 125lbs being 5'2... With my pregnancy I gained 55lbs... After the baby was out I still had a good 180lbs ... Now Im down to 150lbs.. I hope this time I can make it for real..
Thanks again!!
PS. And I sure will join the other thread |

I know I'm a guy and I don't know what it's like to be pregnant (thank God), but I've seen a lot of women go through the post-pregnancy phase of "I'm ugly" and "I'm fat", and I think a lot of that has to be from your hormones. It's funny, but a lot of the women who feel fat aren't even fat at all.
Like CatsMommy already said, the weight will come off. Try doing little things, like going for a short walk everyday or cutting soda out of your diet. Whatever you decide to do, just keep your chins up. CHIN, I mean CHIN!!!
(That was a joke. A bad joke, but you know it still made you laugh and laughing burns calories. See? You're losing weight already!)

You can lose weight and you WILL do that very easily. This is the time you have to make sure you get all the necessary nutrients, so focus only on healthy ways to lose weight.
One of them, the one which helped me a lot - is putting all your effort into increasing your metabolism. This is VERY easy, a bit slower weight loss then following other methods, but it is guaranteed and really very effortless.
Make sure you drink plenty of water (at least 10 glasses a day), eat every ~3 hours, eat smaller portions but 5-6 meals a day, and this will be enough for a successful start. You can eat whatever you like, just do not overeat and limit fast food whenever possible.
Try this starting tomorrow - you should agree this is more than easy, and you can do this.
Keep us posted about your success!
