Counting Calories- what are you eating?

Hi I am new here. My baby is allmost 3 months old and I have just recently started to diet so I'd like to share some tips and hear some from you all as well.

I started at about 150 pre preggo, shot up to almost 210! In a few weeks with no effort I went down to about 168 (I had a lot of water weight) Now I have made it down to about 163 with dieting but my goal is to get down to 130-140.

While I am exercising a little, cutting calories is my main way of loosing weight. I always have a good cereal for breakfast. Then I try to eat a little bit all day to keep my metabolism up. I am having no more than 1500 calories a day. I have found that some small changes make a BIG difference:

"Junk" now includes sugar free fudgecicles (40 cal) and sugar free pudding (60 cal)

Sugar free Jello has virtually no calories so it's a great thing to binge on if you must!

Pasta night- I eat ONE EIGTH of a box (which is one serving) of the Dreamfield's pasta. Then I fry up some zucchini in olive oil and put some sauce and cheese on it. Yum!

Fast food: avoid places like BK and MCD. The best thing I have found is the Chik-filet grilled sandwhich. 270 calories.

TV snack: Orvi R. now makes mini bags. The healthy pop is 100 calories for the whole bag. Or reduced fat crackers. COUNT THEM AND PUT THEM IN A BOWL TO AVOID EATING HALF THE BAG.

Eggs- 1 full egg plus 2 whites- 110 calories

Pizza- make it yourself with just a little sauce and part skim cheese. Add veggies to bulk it up.

Sandwhiches- Healthy Choice meats and fat free cheese singles

Drinking- This is the tough one. No drinking for 9 months so I'm not about to give that up. The main change I made was making my cosmos with lite cranberry juice. Saves 40 calories per drink.

Making all these small changes saves me HUNDREDS of calories a day. I am not starving at all.

I'd love to hear what low cal meals you guys are eating!

i try to eat as much organic food as possible, and the cheapest way to do that is to eat unprocessed/unboxed stuff. which means, lots of fruits and veggies. you've heard the adage of eating your colors, so variety is key, too. i guess this is mainly for general good nutrition, but if you're eating more fruits and veggies and fewer carbs/fats/sweets, you're bound to lose weight.

if you like your veggies cooked, steaming is the best way to go. that way, you keep the nutrients intact. microwaving is BAD. it kills the good stuff.

avoiding processed food helps you avoid extra sodium and all kinds of chemicals and other stuff you don't need. you'll feel better and therefore feel more like exercising. that's what i've found!

Hi!
My son just turned 3 months and I'm 5lb away from my old weight...whew..but I bet they're going to be the toughest!!!
Like you the first set of pounds came off alone...it was like throwing stuff in my mouth as I ran by..not time!

Then at about 10lb away I hit a wall...I started watching more what I ate. I don't count calories but I stick with the FRESH stuff..as much as I can get of it. No eating fast food, no sodas, lots of water, whole wheat etc. It makes a HUGE difference.
Of course I have to workout and change up my routine often.

BUT are you nursing by the way? I am and I have to be careful I DO take in enough calories or it'll hurt my milk supply.
congrats and good luck!!
