Question post pregnancy body

I am wondering how did the rest of the moms here lose the mid-section plumpness from pregnancy. My prob areas are all the places that pregnancy plumps up. My upper arms, upper thighs, lower tummy, back, and hips. All over. my feet, neck and hands are still tiny...lol. If any one could helps with any tips that would be great.

the only way to lose it is through cardio exercise. unfortunately you cant spot reduce, your body decides where it wants to take off fat. you just have to do the work. so if you have access to a treadmill or exercise bike, thats what you need to do.

You can do it!

I did get great abs after the birth of my daughter. I weighed 181 when I went into the hospital to have her and by the following summer had gotten down to 120. I was very happy and proud of myself. I would have had abs of steal if it weren't for the hanging skin that got stretched from pregnancy. The only way I can get great abs would be under a knife. But that's great after 3 you can achieve that. I'm rooting for you. GO WONDERWOMAN !
But with my son I weighed 175 when I went to the hospital and it's not like I got huge. I mean I had almost 9 pound babies. So most of the weight was all baby but when I had them it somehow just crept back on. Especially after my son. I breastfed for a while and when I stopped I gained 8 pounds. I was so mad! I got down to 152. Well hopefully the cardio helps.

Hi there, yea i no what you mean, after having 3 children i found it hard to lose the weight. I am finding that the hardest place is my tummy aswell, I had gone to see a cosmetic surgeon just for some advice and he had told me that i could loose the weight but i will never get rid of the hanging skin unless i had a tummy tuck (what a pity money doesnt grow on trees lol) But i will be happy if i was able to lose the weight on my abdomin anyway

I agree. The hanging skin is a probelm. My stretch marks from pregnancy are about 4 inches under my bustline. The come up pretty high. And, the skin is very hangy, it wasn't as bad until my second pregnancy. Now the skin that hangs over comes all the way to my hip bones. It's a nasty lil flap. My belly button has disappeared too, I hate it. Even when I was 120 after my first the skin was still saggy and hung. One day I hope to get enough courage to have the surgery to have it taken off. I would love to be able to bounce a quarter off my belly instead of it getting sunkin in.

Unhappy hey all

Hey there,

So I 'm new here and I've never joined an online group of any kind before really. I have struggled with weight loss all of my life (1st diet at 8 yrs old!) but now things are really crazy. Despite the fact that at one point, I was a personal trainer (easy to motivate others....not so much myself!) I am now almost 30 pounds overweight!

Since having my amazing baby girl (emergency c-section with 2 subsequent related surgeries that involved cutting through my ab wall) my body just doesn't seem to respond to anything....or maybe I just got discouraged too quickly. I know I am not an 'overeater' and every other site seems aimed at that. I just want boobs that don't look like tea bags and a stomach that doesn't look like a kangaroo pouch.....yikes, when did I get so old!

I'm a 36 year old married mother of an almost 3 year old daughter and I have GOT to get my body/self esteem back in line before I destroy myself with my own negative self talk. I am hoping for a supportive yet strongly encouraging environment that I can feel I have to "answer to" in terms of excercise, results, etc.....

I read some of the posts and you all seem pretty cool with shared concerns and all that.....I look forward to some upcoming online buddies to muddle through all this stuff with!

Sheryl

GOOD MORNING CHICKS!!
Is it a long weekend in the U.S.? What's the plan not to go off the wagon?

Hi, Sheryl, welcome, I'm relatively new here too, everyone is great here and very supportive!! From this thread I found two other great threads; mothering.com and fitness.com (more for men, but if you've worked in the fitness industry theres a lot of great vitamin and exercise help)

I had my 3rd child and gained more than during my other 2 pregnencies 217lbs, baby weighed a ittle over 9 lbs. I'm finally doing more then a half *ssed job dieting and I'm finally seeing results, I'm at 178, 125lbs. was my pre-pregnancy weight(which I can barely remember).

Anyway, I'm feeling a little nervous because after my first two babies my body went back in form(obviously with diet and exercise) but now I'm worried that I too will end up with hanging skin. I see some sagging in my stomach area. I just don't remeber if I had that after the other pregnancies. Iwas thinking that if we lose slowly (which I'm not doing) and execrise at the same time (which I'm not doing) the stomach will go down ,gain muscle and the skin will go back into it's place??? That was supposed to be a question.

I am new here as well, and am looking forward to support and advice!

Pre-first pregnancy I weighed 155 pounds. During my first pregnancy I gained50 pounds and was 205 the day after I delivered my daughter. I used Weight Watchers and managed to lose 90 pounds in a year and a half. However as soon as I stopped counting points the weight creeped back on. 6 months later I was up to 130. Which is what I weighed when I became pregnant with my second daughter.

Well- pregnancy after Weight Watchers- to me it was an excuse to binge. I gained 75 pounds and was 205 when I delivered dd #2.

I have tried to cut back and exercise but with 2 busy girls and working full-time it isn't easy. I'm down to 165 but am still not happy with the way things are going.

I am just starting Low Glycemic Index eating and will be taking a few supplements. I am looking forward to beginning running again as well.

Happy to share this journey to fitness with you fellow Moms.
