I'm Melissa and I just registered on the forum. I am 23 and have been dealing with my weight issues for most of my life. When I was 20 I found out that I have hyper insulin and that was causing a great deal of my weight gain. I started seeing a dietician and an endocronologist and lost a great deal of weight. My weight at it's highest was 301 (I was set up to have a gastric bypass, but opted not to when I found out about my disorder) and I was able to get my weight down to 213 (right now I have gained a few pounds back and i am at 224). My diet is basically a no carb diet, which at times can be quite difficult. I joined this forum in hopes of finding support from people who are going through the same things I am and maybe finding someone in the North New Jersey area that would like to have an exercise buddy.

I have insulin resistance and I'm also 20 and my name happens to be Marissa, close but no cigar.. I know where you're coming from in a sense. I've gained alot of weight over the years and its incredibly hard to take it off. I've lost 63lbs so far but have gained 5lbs back. Congrats on the weight you've already taken off, you should be proud of your success so far.
