Smile I'm new here and need I a lot of work

Hi everyone. My name is Lonnie. I'm an extremely overweight man. I am five foot nine and weigh 354lbs. I have taken some steps on my own to lose the weight started out at 389lbs. My short term goal is to get down to 300lbs but my long term goal is 220lbs. I'm trying to do it the right way by eating 5 small portion meals of healthier foods (about 1800 calories per day) I ride my stationary bike 10 miles per hour for 10 miles 3 times a week and the other day's I go 3 miles a day at 12mph. I've also been doing around 200 crunches every other day. I have no room for equipment and just wanted some suggestions on losing 2 to 3 lbs per week for the rest of 07. Thanks for the help

I'm about 350lbs right now myself and six foot.

In December I had exercised down to 290lbs but relapsed as has been the case my whole life with the weight unfortunately.

I'm here to try one more time and this time get it right and get down to my goal weight of 200lbs.

When I started losing to get down to 290lbs I was at 335lbs and what I did to lose the weight was I ate three meals a day, switched from pop to extremely low calorie sugar free drinks like Crystal Lite and diet suger free Kool-Aid and for exercise I did two 30 minute rides on my stationary bike a day to make an hour and then I would lift some light weights.

My breakfast consisted of a bowl of cereal or two eggs and one piece of toast with no butter but jelly instead and for lunch I would have a sandwhich and a low fat granola bar and basically the same thing for dinner but maybe with a baked potato or can of fruit.

This routine lost me about 5lbs a week and I think the calorie count for it was either 1,000 a day or somewhere in the 1200 range.

I'll probably follow the same diet plan as before but I have to find out how to re-organize my exercise routine as I did it every day all week and I think the fatigue from it was what caused me to give up the dieting.

I started March 6th, 2007 at 445 lbs and 6'2". I've nearly dropped 60 lbs since then by eating six times a day (from 800 to 2030 hrs) and taking in apprx. 2200-2400 calories a day. I've had a consistent weight loss of 3-4 pounds per week for the past 15 weeks. I work out with free weights 3-4 times a week and run on the treadmill 5-6 days a week.

As far as my diet is concerned; I eat lots of protein (40%), veggies, fruits, nuts, yogurts, etc. The majority of my carbs come from whole wheat bread, black beans, brown rice, and cereal. Since I've started I've not been hungry once (except when I skip breakfast). Good luck!

Todd

Hey there...

I'm new here too! We can be new together! Hee, hee...

Thank you for responding to my freaking out post. I appreciate your support and positive words. I just have never done ANYTHING like this before and I am scared out of my mind!

Anyway, I just wanted to also offer my support to you. I admire you for taking the steps all on your own to lose weight. That takes a lot of devotion and motivation! You are to be commended for that!

I am happy that you are here and that you are also taking steps to improve your health. You can do this, and so can I. I wonder how much weight we could lose between us?

You can do it Lonnie! When you are all done with it in the end you can stand in front of the mirror and sing, "I'm too sexy for myself!"

Hugs,
"Storm Girl"
