Question hi all

hi all. My name is Amanda and i am 23 years old. I recently got married (8/5/06). well im afraid ive fallen into that "comfort zone" with my hubby. ive gained a good 40 ponds since we've been together. and he has gained a few too, but he is one of those people i hate. he gains a bit in the winter, because he does less, but in the summer it just seems to melt off of him. anyway, he supportive of my weight loss goals, my goal is to fit into the bikini i bought before we got married and not scare little children at the beach.....lol....he just wants me too be happy. any tips for a beggining dieter/exerciser? i always say im going to do it, i work with it for a week, if that and then give up because i dont see results, i know that it doesn't happen over night, but i just get so discouraged. any advice?

Thanks

Amanda

Hi Amanda, I'm new here too. Hey, I just realized today is the day for a new healthy lifestyle. 07-07-07 is a good date to remember! Anyway, I have lost weight many times in the past, (Too Many...LOL) but totally gave up several years ago. I have found the best diets are free diets. As in count calories, make sure they are healthy calories and exercise & drink plenty of water. Sounds easy huh? If only they made vegetable commercials that looked as good as the Pizza Hut commercials! Good luck.

PS: Even though I have 4 times the weight to lose as you, lets not be those people who come on here and spill our guts to all, and never come back after a few days!! (I've been reading here for a few days and see that's pretty common!) You and me girl will be senior members in a year and will be giving loads of good news and motivation to others who are in our shoes right now! Okay?

Thumbs up thank you so much!

i was looking at the posts too, and there are a select few senior members that are constantly posting. im with you! We really need to stick this out. it doesn't matter how much weight you have to lose, the fact that you want to even try is great. its so hard for me to stay on a diet. my husband trys, but he leads me a srtray sometimes. its funny you mention pizza, I LOVE IT! its a problem food. what i did with pizza, since it is such a huge problem for me, is i found an alternative. Those "lean pockets" the 4 cheese pizza ones are really good. they still aren't the best for you, but its better than eating a whole medium pizza ( which i am known to do when im alone) so im going to start slow, i know the water thing would help, im hooked on diet soda, so i think im going too ween myself off. well i hope we can hang in there together. i think i might top one of those diaries, they seem like a good way too keep track!

talk to you soon!

I am glad you decided to change your life now, before you were like me with 100 lbs to lose! If I had started when I first realized I was getting chubby, instead of letting it go for so long, this journey would be shorter and easier! Congratulations to you!

Hey there I wanted to stop by and wish ya luck, you can do it!!
I hate those darn commercials they usually show 5 fast food/resteraunts then a workout commercial haha!!Anyhoo take 1 day at a time drink your water eat 3 meals a day 2 snacks and plenty of water.I like walking for exersicing start out with a mile then every 2 weeks add 1/2-1 mile.I used to walk 3-4 miles a day and then this past month I have totally slacked off but I feel I am heading the right way again.Have a great day and keep up the good work,Tammy
