Medical Issues and Weight Loss

Hey Howdy and Greetings from Tennessee.

Ive been trying really hard to loose weight for the past 3 months. Ive always been on the chubby side but since I was diagnosed with diabetes at the begining of the year, I knew that I needed to loose it for more than vanity's purpose.

I joined Curves 3 months ago and since then I have lost a whopping .2 lbs and zero inches. This is with going at least 3 times a week and watching what I eat. I know that its harder for people who have insulin issues to loose weight, but throw me a (low calorie) bone over here! Ive been tested for thyroid problems and Im on the high side of normal but my endrochronoligst said its nothing to worry about.

I dont want to get on a diet pill or loose weight un-healthily. But I need to shape up. 2.5 years ago I was 160 and now Im 190. I really want to get back to 160 or a size 12. Right now Im a 16. I hide my weight really well, but that doesnt make me feel better when I step out of the shower infront of the wall to wall mirror

So Im here for venting and suppourt and tips and I hope it can help.

first thing I would do if i were you - and I know it worked wonders for me - was start weighing and measuring everything you eat and record it in an online food diary like FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal or one of the other 100s of free sites out there...

Watching what you eat really isn't the same as knowing exactly how many calories you are taking in... At my heaviest weight I would have sworn that I ate right, I never ate fast food, never ate anything fried, rarely ate junk food - I ate good food.. but portion sizes weren't great... So a scale and a good set of measuring cups helped immensely...

Ive been keeping a journal on fitday.com for the past 6 months so I know exactally whats going into my mouth. Its just frustrating.

I talked to the manager at Curves and she started me on the advanced workout where I maxed out my reps and gave me a customized routiene. I started that yesterday so we shall see how that goes.
