Rep Power: 0 | | | Affraid of getting hurt Hi, I am a male 6ft tall and just weighed myself monday for first time in awhile.
i was shocked to see i weight 260lbs. i guess it just woke me up. so now i am starting to get ready to diet and exercess the diet part is not the hard part. you see a few years ago i broke my back and while i can walk i have lost alot of bending ability and have been told that my max lifting weight is 35lbs(forever) anymore could hurt my back. i have also been forbidden to do any bending or lifting exercise the involves bending my back IE: any exercise i know that would help me losing wieght and toning up my belly. i want to do this but just about every gym and trainer in my town refuses to take me as member due to my back. I want to lose the weight and tone up but i am so scared i'll will hurt myself and maybe even paralize myself my doctor told me i would be able to do but to becarefull and gave me a list of things i'm not alouded to do(which is quite alot) i am just scared i guess but while i know i'll never have my highschool/college body back i would love to to be able become somewhat fit. any ideas would be welcome |

Rep Power: 11 | | | How about swimming? Do you have access to a pool? Thats a low impact exercise. Maybe do 30 minutes of walking combined with swimming. Obviously the weight is not helping your back problems so I bet when you lose weight you have more flexibility/endurance. |

Rep Power: 217 | | | what has your doctor or physical therapist said is the best option for you.
I worry when people with medical limitations ask for help on an internet forum, while the intentions are good, we don't know your situation and you are better off asking someone who is familiar wiht your situation to keep you from injury. |
