Replace the fish with a lean protein (chicken, turkey) and the salad with most any other veggie, either 1 cup raw or 1/2 cup cooked as a general portion, and see how you feel. Adjust from there.

Fish = very lean protein

I don't understand this.

What do you not understand? If he won't eat fish, he still has to have protein.

I don't think she meant that fish wasn't a lean protein she just didn't write, 'Replace it with another lean protein'. A lot of times I assume that people know as much about dieting and stuff as I do so I leave stuff out that is important to what I am trying to explain.
Then I get the big smackdown from someone else.

I KNOW fish is a lean protein. The OP said he does not eat fish and asked what to replace it with on the plan suggested by someone else. I was offering a replacement choice, not indicating that fish is not lean protein.
