I'm 24 and currently living in Hiroshima, Japan. I have always had a problem with my weight. When I was younger (11/12) my parents told me that I was "a little heavy" and should stop eating. Before this I thought I was fine, but even since then I have had a warped body image. When I was 15 I was bulimic and was diaganosed bipolar. The meds combined with my lack of eating dropped me to 120 lbs. Because I was going to the doctor frequently, they noticed my drastic weight drop and threatened to put me in the hospital if I didn't start eating again. I started eating and haven't stopped since. I find it really hard to stop eating even when I'm full. Food makes me happy! I especially love cake and ice cream.
Since I've been in Japan (6 weeks) I've lost 11 lbs without even trying! I noticed that my clothes were fitting a bit better, so I decided to really work hard core! By December I want to weigh 140lbs.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and hope that I can finally get some positive support.
Congratulations on the 11 lb weight loss. My husband is Japanese so I love that initial weight loss when we go back! You have so many healthy options living in Japan! You will definately make your goal but take care of your health too okay? What are you doing in Hiroshima? Are you part of JET?
