first post... time to drop some LBs

hey all,

this is my first post here

i went to the gym today. here is why its important:

i am 31, 270lb (122kilo), 6'2" (187cm). Just two years ago i was 230lb (104kilo). But i stopped working out. Somehow i lost the drive. I did try to start up again a few times in the past two years, but those attempts didn't go anywhere.

but i stepped on the scale this morning to see that dreaded number: TWO SEVEN ZERO -- the weight really piled up in the last six months due to me quitting smoking (i never smoked a lot though).

i feel fired up now to loose weight to where i was before. in fact, this time my target is 220lb!!! my goal is to loose ~4lb/month.

i am going to try and do cardio at least 6 days a week. time to go charge up my iPod! wish me luck.

Hey, Welcome!

Sounds like you're on your way. Are you going to do anything with your diet along with the exercise? Probably cutting out the things you know are bad for you is a good start (soda, sweets, junk food-if you are eating any).

Anyway, welcome again. Let us know how you're doing!

Hey there,

welcome to the forum. I'll have to agree with what David said about all that "naughty stuff." haha Also, congrats with breaking the habit of smoking and getting back into the swing of things. Good luck with your weight loss journey.

thanks. i been trying to eat healthy for the past 5 year (if not more). i shop at whole foods and dont usually drink sodas. i do have a little bit of a sweet tooth though and my other vice is coffee. that is something i need to work on, i know.
