So,
I'm 15 years young, 198 lbs, and 5.11'.
I live in the Caribbean and I have never worn a bikini in public. I might bruise people's eyes.. heh.. ^^
I do wanna wear one. I wanna look just as great as my friends do when they wear a bikini. AND I wanna get rid of the awkward tan I ahve from wearing tankinis.. I wanna have a nice tan by the time I leave for uni.
I wanna actually find clothes that fit me and look nice on me.
I wanna be able to join the extreme-race (swimming, running, biking, kayaking around the island) my school is holding in May, without doubting if I'll make it.
I want my fingers to be slimmer, so normal-sized rings would actually fit them.
And honestly, I really want to be healthy. Well, it's not like I eat horribly unhealthy or anything... but I don't wanna get diabetes or joint-problems in the future..

Mid-July I started losing. I went from 217 to 198...
Um, yeah, I'm here if you guys need to talk <3
And it would be nice to have a weight-loss buddy? ^^

GW1: 1st wednesday of February --> 188lbs

Oh do I ever understand the desire to be comfortable as all the other friends in a bathing suit in public... I live at the beach & am not even brave enough to wear a tankini. I tan at the tanning bed & end up in shorts as the smallest thing I get into.

There is a ton of motivation & advice here, yours for the taking.

Normal size rings may never fit....I'm also a tall girl and even when I'm skinny (many years ago) a "normal sized ring" doesn't fit me. Normal sizes are between 5 and 7....and a size 7 could cut off the circulation in my ring finger.

Good luck on getting into that bikini though! And remember, a toned body is attractive even if there are a few extra pounds on it. You don't have to be a stick to look great.

I don't live in the caribbean but I'm going during Spring Break and I want to look hot too! I'm 5'7'' and I was in Bermuda in August, weighing 202 lbs (now 169.8). I didn't even go swimming until my last 3 days there because I was so ashamed of how I looked in my swimsuit. Even when I did get enough courage to try it out, I felt like people were staring at me. I never want to deprive myself of having fun on vacation anymore, and that's one of the reasons being slim is important to me.
I applaud you for wanting to be so active, it's admirable. You can do anything you set your mind to, and your weight goals seem pretty realistic. God bless.

Just curious where at in the Caribbean? As my MIL lives on Puerto Rico and that is where I found my inspiration this past summer to lose weight.
You have definately come to the right spot for encouragement.
Just keep plugging along and it will happen. I too weigh 198 but I started out at 230. Lets do this together!
The best thing is to start a diary that way people can stop by and visit you everyday!

.I know how you feel, I live in Puerto Rico and for a long time I had self esteem problems and went to bathe with wetsuits on and I missed so much. around a year ago I decided I would get my balls back and do whaty I wanted to do and went barechest and realized the only one judging was me. I still have a long way to go to start looking like I want to. Good luck and don't quit!.

I know what you mean though! All my friends are like SUPER skinny, and when we go camping, they all bring cookies and chips and stuff, and I'm like "EEEK! I CANT EAT THIS!" >< Well, atleast it helps me bring up my self-control
