Rep Power: 820 | | Saying hi and giving my introduction Hi everyone, I am new here and wanted to introduce myself. I found this site while I was looking around for a support group that will actually "support me". A bit about myself: I am 32 and a mom of four. Yup I did say four! LOL. I have a daughter (taylor) who will be 10 in January, Mikayla who will be 8 in April. My only son, JT, who will be 3 in January and my last daughter Madison who will be 1 in January as well. I am done having children. We wanted four and we got that now time to let them grow up and spend as much time with them as I can. And now to concentrate on me!! My husband and I are big Georgia Bulldog fans. I also love to play tennis and just spending time with my family. I enjoy a few good margaritas from time to time and visiting the beach. I use to be very skinny, in shape, and big into sports and the gym. Then I got lazy for some reason and the pounds just keep creeping up on me. Right now I weigh 161 lbs but I am only 4'11" tall so on me it shows that I am really over weight. I am determined to reach my goal weight of 120 by June 1st. I know I can do it. I just need support to help me get through the bad days, the good days, and everything in between. So hopefully I am at the right place. The kick in the pants to get started was when my son grabbed my "growing double chin" this weekend and went "gooble gobble gobble". That was it. I was embarressed and was determined to set a great example for my kids. So tomorrow I start the gym as I had to go in and sign up today and my diet starts as well. My problem areas will be: Quitting the sodas. I LOVE COKE and I HATE water. Any suggestions? Cardio - I hate it. I love lifting weights but I hate cardio. I will just have to push myself through it and hopefully I will come to grips with it. So that is me in a nut shell. I hope to be around for a really long time to come. And I look forward to getting to know everyone here. Thanks!

Rep Power: 2584 | | | Hi and welcome, you are definitly in the right spot for support. I too hated water. I always seemed to live somewhere where it was just gross. South Carolina, too much floride, Texas, it was brown and Montana, it smelled like rotten eggs!! That pretty much turned me off of water. Well here in Washington the water is not so bad. I usually have bottled water and I started buying the Crystal light lemonaid packets and putting half of one in a 33 oz water. I did that for about 4-6 months and then slowly weaned myself off of it and not I drink straight water. I switched to diet pop but after time I just started ordering water whenever I was out or drinking it at home and it just kind of grew on me. My biggest things with weight loss has been water, lots of power walking, not eating after 7pm and eating healthy foods. That has been all and the weight it coming off. I still have 50 more pounds to lose but I feel so much closer to it now then before. I think if you really want it, you can do it. Just think how proud you will be when you get it all off and how much funner it will be playing with your kids and being healthy and in shape. Good luck. |

Rep Power: 59529 | | Welcome! I'm always surprised when people say they don't like water...but then I've always lived places that have great tasting water. Bottled water can make it more palatable...and crystal light is a great alternative. I'm partial to the pink lemonade flavor.

Rep Power: 6299 | | | Hi! Hi! I'm new, too! I'm not going for a weight loss goal, but for an increase in fitness and a better diet (b/c every time I do the pounds lost thing and I don't measure up I quit). In other news...
I have a diet coke habit that's going in the can. I know it's what sheriffs use to wash away blood from accidents and that it can dissolve things and it's really useful if you need to clean the battery connections on your car, but it's so FIZZY!
I'll wean myself off it, too, with those togo Crystal Light (walmart brand) things and fizzy water. I know it'll work.
