Rep Power: 0 | | | hello - british newbie here Hello ,
So...i'm sai, and i'm overweight. I suppose you allready knew that though! I live in the UK and we don't seem to have that great a support network online, so i'm hoping this kind of forum might help me out. basically i've been trying to lose weight but without much of a plan, aside trying to be healthy, which as we all know is easier said than done. i find that if i give myself more guidelines, like daily allowances and stuff, i'm more likely to rebel against them, so i'm looking for some more help with structure and tips.
a friend has recently suggested i try a weight-loss camp like you guys in the states have - has anyone been on one, and if so, was it worth it? i know it's not a quick fix but i wonder if it might kick me into at least starting to lose...
anyway, hello and hope you're all having mroe luck than i am! Sai xx |

I live in England.
Start a diary - we all have one. That gives us somewhere for us all to visit you. You can have a look in our diaries and see what we are doing.
That is the way that we leave messages for each other and all motivate each other.
It is the start of December tomorrow so there are some new challenges starting up. Some other challenges take new people any time so why not join a challenge or two.
There are lots of "sticky" threads around. Read them and you will see lots of good advice.
Good luck.
Best wishes

Rep Power: 31 | | Hey there Sai,
welcome to the forum. As Omega said creating a diary will keep you accountable for everything you eat, how you feel from day to day, etc. It's a great tool to use after some time to look back on your weight loss/ fitness achievements. If you're interested in online calorie counters you can sign up free at either FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal or Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople Quote:

anyway, hello and hope you're all having mroe luck than i am! Sai xx | I had a couple of friends who tried the following. Both of them unfortunately gained their weight back, because they just didn't have it in themselves to remain motivated. (According to them.. not me.)
All in all, you can pretty much sign up for all the memberships, camps, counseling groups you want. However, if our minds refuse to focus on our weight loss/ fitness/ health goals, there's a big chance of reverting back to our "old ways." I hope you find the motivation/ inspiration you're looking for here at the forum. Wishing you all the best.
