Smile Hello! I'm new to this forum

Hello all,

I'm a new member to this forum, I have been lurking about and reading some posts in the Cohen's section. I thought that it would be great to be able to chat with other people doing what I'm doing.

A little about me
I wasn't always over weight, in fact I was so thin as a child that my mother used to chase me around with food. I remember being keep in at lunch time, so that the teacher could observe me eating my lunch.

I think that my weight problems started in early teenage-hood. At the time my parents were going thru a very rough patch. I started to comfort eat to feel happy. Looking back now I see that I developed bad eating habits around this time and continued on with it.

Why cohens?
My co-worker watched A Current Affair in late Oct07, and forwarded the web-site to me. At the time I was on JC and doing a lot of excercise and my weight was not going anywhere. Very discouraging!!! I decided to go to an information session at the Cohen's Lifestlye clinic, and am on my 12th day of the Cohen's diet.

For the first time in ages I feel that there is hope, that I actually could be skinny.

Just realised that I've started to rabbit on. I think I will start a Journal and go into more details there...

I want to say Thanks to all the people who post on this site, you are amazing!!!

Hey there! It's great that you've joined a support forum, and hopefully it will be a good way to help you reach your goals. It's great that you think the diet will work for you. Do you have any exercise plans in place yet? I'll check out your journal in a little bit!

Keep it up, this is a great place to get informed about issues and get away from the media circus that weight loss can sometimes be.

Hi RadiantPebble,

I have a treadmill at home on which I do 3-4x 30min sessions a week. I also want to find out about doing yoga sessions as well to firm up.
I was told by my Cohen's consultant that you don't need to excercise on this plan, but I'm used to doing some form of activity.

I did over do the excercise a little in the first week, and felt like eat more and more and had no energy. Instead I tricked my tummy with heaps of water. I'm drinking an average of 3lts a day, is this normal on the Cohens plan?

How much did you lose in your first month? If you are still on it what is your plan for xmas a "deviation day" or are you toughing it out?. I will be "deviating" as i have told myself i would from the start, also as Im the chief cook - im not that strong!!!, but straight back on boxing day... anyway would love to hear how your going
