Which im still not sure if it is, i was looking more towards going to GNC and getting some supplements, i will list what i have in mind and i just need a little help on picking out something to just lose weight quick. Im not looking to get all muscular, just to lose this weight. Im 20 years old 6"1 and i did weigh 190 before i had my surgery, now i weigh 240 and im despretley trying to get this off. Thanks in advance. Supplements :

Those are what i have found, any other supplements that you all know of plz tell me, would be greatly appreciated. Rep Power: 182 | | Why the hell would you be looking to take supps at this stage in the game? I'll never understand this rational. I mean, even when I didn't know what the F- I was talking about, I wasn't out searching for some magic potion to carry me to my goals.
You do realize that losing weight is about calorie balance, right?
Burn more calories than you consume, weight will be lost and vice versa.
With that in mind, I'm not sure AT ALL why you would think about using Muscle Milk as it's very calorically dense. You saying this tells me that you don't know the first thing about the basics and without the fundamental/basic foundation in place, no supplement in the world is going to help you unless you define help as a shrinking wallet.
Sorry for the direct response, but it irritates me to no end when people look for the quick way out, especially when they hope on finding the secret while totally disregarding the fundatmentals. |

I call it like I see it matter of factly and add my advice and you assume I'm on steroids because my 'tone' doesn't match what you expect or want.
That's real logical, lol.
Hint to ya: This is a public community and you'll find opinionated people here. If you wanted cupcakes and butterflies, go back to mommy.
If you can't take my post for what it is, a verbal slap to snap you into reality and do some digging before jumping right to supplements..... you aren't going to have an enjoyable stay on this forum. |

Rep Power: 182 | | | Oh, and I'll add that most anyone is going to tell you to read the stickies at the top of the forums where most, if not all your questions have already been answered.
But *gasp*
Most of those are filled with my words so if you don't like what I have to say or how I have to say it, I don't know what to tell ya. |

Telling someone what not to do (ie taking muscle milk) is extremely helpful information...
Sounds l ike you were looking for validation of your plan.. I'm sure there are lots of supplement based forums that would be happy to do that for yu -but this forum, we tend to prefer hard work and honest iformation |

Rep Power: 12 | | Take it slowly Morning,
Today is Day 18 after my surgery, and I've found that taking it slowly but taking it seriously is what really helps getting back onto the path of weight loss/health.
Steve is right regarding the calorie deficiency; you need to ensure you expend more calories than you take in. With that being said, what kinds of exercises/activities can you tackle now? Are you able to indulge in cardio-intensive sports/workouts, or do you have to take it slower with more concentration?
During my recovery, I've had to shun my karate and cardio workouts (wah!) but I can still lift weight and do upper body routines (as well as walk slowly for a mile). You always have to listen to your body (so long as you can verify your body is the one talking and not your insidious little voice that tries to sabotage your efforts).
Hope that helps,
Barbara |

Rep Power: 8 | | Yep, Steve hit it on the head! You needed the wake up call if that's what you honestly thought would help you lose weight & be healthy. Calories, exercise and good nutritious food is what your body (and mind) needs.
Start researching healthy foods over the internet, library etc. and read up on what good beginning exercise routines you could add into your lifestyle.
If you just had surgery, your body needs time to recover, so don't push yourself too hard, too fast.
Good luck with your journey!! |

Rep Power: 0 | | well, looks like im the ass now, so i will appologize to steve. im sorry dude. now that's over with, i will take in fact that i was looking for a quick way out, im used to being 190 ... not 240 i was 260 before i started going to the gym a month ago, i have been working very hard when im there, i usually eat 2 times a day, the first meal i try to eat something not as fatening like a granola bar or some kinda little snack, for dinner i usually go to subway and get one of those fresh fit meals, on wheat bread, usually the club which has
turkey, ham, roast beef, and light mayo on it. I have lost about 20 pounds as i said in a month, i dont know if this is a good rate or if its a slow rate or what the deal is, but im open to all suggestions as to what my routine should be, i am going back to the doctor wednesday to see when my last surgery is, the idiot didnt fix it last time, he tried putting in pins to make my knee cap hold togeather but it didnt work, so im guessing i will need full knee reconstruction or whatever its called where you get a new knee. i still jog and do leg workouts no matter what pain im in because someone told me if your knee is stronger going into the surgery the healing time would be quicker. i am determined to lose this weight, if its the hard way then so be it, i just want to lose it in a healthy manner so i dont gain it all back if i slip up for a week or so. thanks for everyones help, and one again steve, your right my man, im sorry |
