Rep Power: 0 | | Another newbie! As you can tell from my name, I'm a bride to be! I got engaged a couple of months ago but we're going to wait about three years to get married.
I have pretty much always been overweight, but during my degree I put on two extra stone on top of the two stone of fat I already had! I'm finding it hard to shift it and know that if I don't start losing now, I'll only put another two.
I want to be beautiful on my wedding day, but more than that, I want to feel confident. I also want to lose weight to feel better, I have acid reflux and IBS problems and really think I need to be more healthy.

Rep Power: 0 | | | There are a few of us that are losing weight for our weddings, myself one of them. Congrats on the engagement, and also, I know a long engagement can be a little difficult (my fiance and I have been engaged for a couple years already but will be waiting unti we both finish our degrees to get married - we're both in year 3 of 4).
I don't know if this works for acid reflux or not, but a good first step is to drink more water! I would imagine it would dilute the acid in your stomach so that at least its not as potent when it rises.
Another good suggestion is to start up a journal here to track your efforts and progress (and yes, sometimes setbacks!)! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Thanks everyone! Hi everyone, thanks for the encouragement!
I'm going to start up a journal to keep track today and I will drink more water and see how that goes with the acid.
I'm originally from Newcastle in North-East England but have lived in Nottingham for quite a while now. My brother-in-law comes from York, it's a gorgeous place.
Thanks again! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Congrats on the engagement! I think I know what you mean about gaining weight while getting a degree...I fell into that trap, too! For your IBS, does your doctor recommend any particular diet? It might be a good idea to talk to a nutritionist about your weight-loss goals and IBS and see if she can help come up with some recipes and food ideas. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
