my goals

Hi,

I've been struggling to maintain my weight after having my first baby 9 months ago. I lost most of the weight at first, then have been slowly gaining- 20+ pounds in the last few months. I'm having trouble cutting out chocolate and pastries - not excessive amounts, but 'treats' and 'rewards'. The adjustments of parenthood and stresses on my relationship with my partner make it harder for me to have a truly healthy lifestyle.

This is my first experience with weight gain, and I'm hoping for lots of support and help in sticking to my goals.

Yay us for taking steps toward our goals!!

A.

Welcome aboard.

What exactly are you having trouble with?

Consistency you mean?

Do you know how many calories you are consuming each day? Are you exercising?

Yes, follow through, I suppose. I set goals and then don't meet them.

I haven't had to watch my weight before, so I'm lacking willpower.

I don't count calories (though have just created an account at Fitday, so will start), but I know that I've been eating larger meals since I've been breastfeeding (so much for losing weight through bf).

I go to the gym three times a week and practice yoga once a week. I like to walk, but the weather hasn't allowed for that lately.... Again, sometimes I'm inconsistent with my exercise routine, because of the baby or my own exhaustion.

Amber and WalkNotRun,

Congratulations on your babies! I have a 4 year old girl and my "baby" will be 2 in Feb.

I totally understand how hard it is to lose that baby weight, I gained 85 pounds with my first and lost 10 during the 10 months I breastfed and about 60 in the 8 months after I quit. Also I am now 10 pounds heavier than when I had my "baby." (And I just lost 10 pounds)

I am doing a lemonade detox diet right now...good luck with your goals! I am here if you need help!
