Thumbs up Hello

Hello,
I am new to this forum, i am 5'11 1/2 like 354 LBS and am trying to lose weight again! About two years ago i tried the low carb and it worked great, when my weight loss stopped i began going to the gym, when that stoped i got back to eating normal and ruined it all. I am currently trying to do the low carb thing all over again but at the same time i am using RapidSlim SX. and basically i just started so lets see how i do.

Thank You,

Alex

Hi Alex,
I am new here too. Can I give you suggestions?...

Low carbs is ok (well, better than NO carbs), but some carbs are good for you. They give you energy when you're doing cardio activities like running, biking, elliptical, etc. You already know this! Please don't up the red meat or pork though! Have you heard about glycemic index? Some people are against it, but it works, especially for those with diabetes. I'm sure you don't have diabetes, but since carbs break down into certain types of sugars in your body, it should help for what you're doing now! Most nutrition books have each common food's glycemic index number and an explanation as to what it is. I did this last new years and lost 6 pounds in a week. Yet, here I am again, 6 pounds and then some heavier.

Anyhoo, Good luck Alex!

Talking Thanx and Hello

I am unfortunately diabetic and do know that some carbs are good but I just got to research a little, how does the Glyc. Index work, is it like watching calories. Oh and thank you, I really appreciate that people respond I’m new to this and I like it that I got a response instead of just viewers who relate and don’t post.

Smile Help first post

Hi all, at my last MD visit I'm over the 200 mark. I need to stop this before it gets any worse. I was checking out the Kimkin site this am but as a nurse know that is not good for your body.
I need all the encouragement I can get. I do like the support on the Kimkin site so I googled and this site came up.
I'm 47, mother of 3 teens, married and living north of Boston. Right now I'm in school for my RN and work as a LPN on weekends.
Writing down what I eat is a good place to start. I know that carbs are big and not good for me but when on the way out the door or at the school cafe it's the quickest and cheapest.
Any words of encouragement or ideas?
