I am new here too. Can I give you suggestions?...
Low carbs is ok (well, better than NO carbs), but some carbs are good for you. They give you
energy when you're doing
cardio activities like running, biking, elliptical, etc. You already know this!

Please don't up the red meat or pork though! Have you heard about glycemic index? Some people are against it, but it works, especially for those with diabetes. I'm sure you don't have diabetes, but since carbs break down into certain types of sugars in your
body, it should help for what you're doing now! Most
nutrition books have each common food's glycemic index number and an explanation as to what it is. I did this last new years and lost 6
pounds in a week. Yet, here I am again, 6
pounds and then some heavier.
