Hello world!

Hi all,

My name is Deep. I'm from London but soon to be in San Diego on a training placement.

I'm new here (obviously) but glad to have found you guys.
I haven't generally reached out for help and advice online even though I spend most of my time working on the internet.

My main interest is with the way I treat food and how it treats me and how it makes me look too.

At present I'm eating with my eyes rather than my stomach! Maybe some of you guys can relate?

Anyway hope to find inspiration and great advice here - I'm sure I will =)

Deep

Hi Deep!

I completely understand what you mean by eating with your eyes, there's even a saying in my culture that means "Your eyes are bigger than your stomach" lol. I especially have times when I get very emotional and stuff myself with sweet and salty foods as if they would make me fell better. I do feel better at the time, but in the long run it really hurts me. What I'm doing to battle this issue is making sure that the foods I do have available to me aren't junk foods. For example, I make sure there isn't any soda pop around, cookies, chips, and anything else I know isn't very good for me. I also drink a lot of water throughout the day to keep myself hydrated and make me less likely to stuff myself. And if you can, when you're eating a meal, try to stop in the middle of it and rate how full you are. I know this sounds a bit weird but it helps me a bit lol. So rate it from 1-10, where you would want to be is 6-7 and 8-9 is when you're stuffing yourself. When you feel you are at 6-7, stop and know that you are full. I know that's confusing and I'm probably not the best at explaining this. The last thing that you could do is just make sure you eat at least 2 hours before you sleep. I've lost 10 pounds in the last 2 and a half weeks by not eating after 8, and plan to implement an exercise plan of some kind. Wow, I talk a lot, sorry!

Anyway, it is very nice to have you here! I'm new here as well and just joined today actually. Hope to hear more from you, Deep!

Great advice Sarapheena!

Sarapheena, thank you !

I have heard people speak about rating ones fullness from 1 - 10 but of course its the doing that counts. Definitely makes sense and I'll start right away.
You know, its always so straight forward when someone else lays out advice for you and by that I dont mean it isnt valuable - your tips are gratefully appreciated and definitely valuable. I'll get back to you with an update at the soonest!

Thanks again =)

Deep
