Welcome! I'm newer to the forum as well!

I've only been here a few days, but already the support is overwhelming!

Just know that I am here for you if you ever need it! Getting past the cravings is my biggest battle as well! We can do it! Just have a positive attitude, realize that losing weight takes time, and be in this to better yourself and for no other reason than that!

You can do it!!!!!

Welcome and good luck!

Whatever you decide to stick with, it has to be sustainable. However, when making these changes there will be some trying times in the beginning. When I started controlling my portions and tracking my diet, I found I was hungry -- A LOT. But it's mostly mental. Your brain/body likely will adjust and you'll be okay. Now I only feel hungry if I go well past my regular eating times.

Don't beat yourself up over small indulgences... that chocolate cake is fine if you limit you portions and eat it infrequently.

Start a diary here to keep yourself accountable!

Thanks Gals and Guys

Well def feeling better the last few days , i think the main reason for feeling miserable was that am eating stuff that i didnt really enjoy..I am allowed 32 points a day of anything i want basically as long as i dont go over the points , but in my head its like although am allowed to eat what i want in moderation i feel like i have to eat the non fatty, healthy stuff so basically am depriving myself which isnt helping any body !! thing is i love fruit and veg would eat it day in day out just feel like am being forced to eat it all the time !, i finally had a bit of chocolate and god did it feel better lol. (dunno why i cut it out a hardly eat it as it is but felt like i couldnt have it ) and am a not a sweet tooth at all am savoury all the way , am really missing cheese right now lol... thanks for your replys guy am feeling soooo much better ve got a long way to go but least if i let myself enjoy what am eating ill feel better

A little bit of cheese won't kill you either. You just have to watch portions. Moderation is the key. There are fat free and reduced fat cheeses as well. So you can go a little healthier with them and not feel as though you are completely denying your body something that you love.

Sounds like you are starting to realize what is going to work for you. Thats the way to do it! Do it how it will work for you and do it FOR YOU!

Great start!

If you want the picture to show up by your name you have to download it under the Avatar section.

Hope that helps!!

Quoted for truth. It seems like you're hungry all the time at first, but the human body has an amazing ability to adjust. It will get easier and easier as time goes by until it's second-nature.

Hi, Char! It sounds like you're off to a great start. I've found that it's a mistake to go super low-cal AND super low-fat at the same time. When you're dieting you're always looking forward to that next meal, so it should at least be something tasty! Obviously you don't want to blow all your points on meals of chips and ice cream, but you can have at least a little fat with each meal, esp. if you're eating lots of fruits and vegies and whole grains too.

Here's my three favorite diet breakfasts. These all taste wonderful and keep me going until lunchtime. And they're under 300 calories each, even if you add a cup of coffee with a good shot of creamer. Since you like fruit and love cheese, you might like these little recipes.

1) Mexican Cheese Toast (1 piece whole grain toast with an ounce of cheese melted on top, sprinkled with a little chili powder), plus fresh fruit (anything except banana).

2) Peanut Butter Fruit Toast: 1 piece of whole wheat toast, one Tbsp peanut butter, with slices of fresh strawberry or kiwi fruit neatly layered on top of the peanut butter. Yeah, it sounds goofy, but tastes great. You can use any fruit, but a slightly acid fruit seems to work best with the oiliness of the peanut butter.

3) Skinny Egg Muffin: One egg, soft-boiled or fried in a non-stick pan, served on a whole-wheat English muffin, with a sprinkle of bacon bits and just a half-teaspoon of grated cheese on top.
