I'm a 27 year old male from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, who has lost 95lbs in the last 8 months, going grom 342 to 247. I'm looking to lose at least another 50lbs and this forum looks like a great place for further tips and tricks on how to keep on track.
So far to lose weight I have been: counting calories, keeping my weekly total between 10k-11k, walking about 4 hours/week, taking an ephedrine/caffeine stack 2/day 5 days/week.
I look forward to meeting you all and exchanging info!
Welcome to the community and congrats on your success so far!
That caloric intake seems a bit low given your stats. Do you do anything for ensuring adequate protein intake? How's your hunger?
Thanks for the encouragement!
I have been going a bit low on the calories, but it's been working for me. I try to keep a high proportion of protein in my diet as I know it's essential, but I don't keep exact track. The hunger was pretty bad for the first while, but it's gone away as the disparity between my suggested maintenence level and my intake has shrunk. The ephedrine/caffeine stack also much reduces hunger.
hay there issac you have come to the right place you will find lots of help and support here! you have done really well so far and may i wish you good luck with the rest of your weight loss journey
all parts of your body use calories, while fat uses mabe 3 calories each day, while the same portion of muscle would use 60-80 calories each day.
-so in theory if you work out to build muscle like bench press (1st off fat is needed to build muscle) you would lose a big sum more weight than say just cardio-running cause the muscle growth and substain would use a lot of calories!
Steve: I plan on increasing my caloric intake once I get down to my ideal weight to about 14-16000/week so as to maintain a doable routine. My metabolism seems to be faster than ever, or at least I have more energy and do more than I ever had.
Kotki: Thanks!
SuperToilet: I do plan on introducing lots of weight lifting after I get down another 50lbs to get lean and muscled looking.
any muscles, but the ones that use it faster are the most used or bigger muscles (abs, legs, and arms are huge ones). Thats also why bodybuilders stride for around 4000-5000 calories a day (seriously now thats just crazy LOL), and they just put on muscle no fat, because they get a ton of muscle which uses fat, which builds muscle which uses fat.
so basicly man if you get more muscle, work out, and eat healthy you will for sure see a huge difference =D!
