Rep Power: 182 | | I don't think it's going to matter much.
I'd prefer, personally, to eat something if I'm starving before going for a jog. Take a break to let the food settle, then head out.
But that's me. |

One more thing! my hips are aching, kinda like my hip sockets, i am assuming i am putting more strain on my legs than i am used to, will proper running shoes help with this? i am currently wearing some addidas trainers that i used when i did the gym. i do a few leg stretches before hand and i know i've only been out 3 times, but already, i can jog for longer each time, maybe its because im getting used to breathing properly and used to knowing how far i can go. i duno! either way, im enjoying it and so is the dog! lol, although she HATED getting up at 4:45 this morning, she is so not a morning dog! | When I was in the Army, I busted my wrist (had nothing to do with running :P ) but in my rehab, I met a lot of females who had issues with stress fractures in their hips. I would just say be cautious, and take it easy. Make sure that if your hips start killing you, give yourself some rest. Jogging is really high impact compared to running and your body may not be 100% ready for that kind of stress. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | oh dear! ok, i will take it easy today! i set my alarm for 5:45 this morning and i slept in (cause i was so shattered from yesterday) so i didnt make it out, that plus the fact my leg muscles are KILLING ME! so i will go tonight and hope my legs are less painful! is tehre anything ic an do (other than stretching before hand) that will either prevent muscle ache, sooth the ache or speed up the recovery. Is it wise to keep jogging when achy, i find it doesn't really hurt once im up and moving, its when i've been still for about 5 mins and try and get up again! do stretching excercises help when im aching or can this make it worse? |

Rep Power: 20 | | | I do walking-only days if I hurt like that. When my muscles recover, I switch back to jogging. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
