New Guy

Hello:
I'm new to the site, and have enjoyed reading some of the threads. I'm getting ready to have my second hip replaced, and hopefully begin a much more active period of my life. I've been in considerable pain for the last few years, which had caused me to stop working, become more depressed than usual, and of course, gain weight. My personal life is in turmoil as well, which is never good. I want to start fresh, and I'm hoping this web site can be the catalyst I need. Thanks for listening.

welcome to the site...

when is your surgery scheduled? and have the doctors given you any kind of estimate on recovery time? Good luck with it..

Is there anything you can do before hand - to help prepare your body for the replacement surgery?

It took me about 8 weeks before I could do much of anything, exercise-wise, with the first hip. I'm really looking forward to being pain free so I can walk again. Thanks for asking.
