Feeling the pains of training

Three weeks ago my wife talked me into running a 10K w/her. I thought "No big deal." She had been training for year or so running 5 miles 4 days a week. No pride here, but I just couldn't be out done. I ran the race with her but I made her promise to run the entire thing w/me and not leave me in her dust. Surprisingly I finished with a 9 minute pace. Not bad for a chubby guy who hasn't run in along time. So now my wife has challenged me to run a 180mile relay w/her. There are 12 team members and I have to run 3 five mile legs. I lucked out and was able to finish the 10k but I know I have train to finish the relay. It took everything I had to finish the 10k and I couldn't hardly walk for 3-4 days after. Now I'm training.. but I have run into a bit of problem. I have put in 5 five mile runs in the last 2 weeks. But I think I'm breaking down. The last run I was barely able to finish cause my ankle felt like it was broken...kinda like a knife stuck in the bottom. So has anyone got some advice for me?
