Exclamation well heres something new!


Well hello there!!!
My name is Katie, aka Kate, Kate Monster, Katherine, etc. I am 17, going in to my senior year of High School, and I am a thespian! I sing, act, play guitar, and am in the International Thespian Society. now for the serious stuff...
I am 5'11, 261 lbs, and a BMI of 36.48 as of 2 minutes ago. I go on walks, and i do Wii fit regularly (believe me, it really does give you a workout)... But i still can't lose much weight. i dont know what to do, especially because when i get bored i eat. I just need somebody to talk to and give me the confidence not to snack all the time!

well... this is my newbie moment...
there ya go!

Find something to keep you from being bored... and doing something other than snacking.

Nutrition is going to be your biggest factor in losing weight... as well as consistent exercise... but the nutrition first and foremost...

Talk to your parents/guardians about your goals and help do some meal planning.
Get an account at FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal or one ofthe 100s of other free sites on the web to keep track of your calories... and weigh and measure everythig that goes in your mouth...

Spend some time wit the stickied threads - -especially nutrition, on topic and exericse.. the nutrition section will help you figure out a reasonable calorie goal to shoot for....

As mal said if you want to get it done you need to focus on nutrition. with exercise alone you would need to burn 7000 extra calories through exercise a week to lose 2lbs. And that is IF you are only consuming a maintenance level of calories. Thats a bunch of exercise and a whole hell of a lot Wii Fit.

Harsh criticism forth coming:

That statement tells me you DO not what to do. Quit eating out of boredom. Eating is pretty lousy entertainment anyway. Looks like you have hobbies to keep you busy.

Hi there! Just wanted to say hello. We are about the same age (I just finished high school) Good luck on losing the weight!! You have already gotten some great advice.
