Newbie Needing Motivation

Hi I'm new here, Just thought I would say HELLO!
I have been lacking in any type of motivation lately, so if anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.
I'm here looking to lose about 20 lbs maybe, and basically just get into the shape that I'd like to be in. I'm getting older and I know that once I hit thirty I'll be screwed when it comes to losing weight. Everyone in my family is pleasantly plump, and growing up with my mother's German home cooking I'm sure did not help anything.
I've been playing sports since I was probably 3 or 4 years old. I was very big in to soccer until my junior year of high school when I broke my ankle which required 7 screws a rod and a plate to repair. The doctor's told me that I'd never walk again without a limp, well I walk fine and I ran a 5K in November, the pain is still there but I refuse to let that hold me back from losing weight. I've recently taken a very large liking to spinning classes, but again am lacking the motivation to go by myself.


Well that's just a little bit about me, for now...if you cared to read this far, I appreciate it and would be interested in any tidbits for weight loss/getting in shape that you could provide, I'm all ears
