Hi (sorry long)

Hi I've just weighed myself and I'm 225lbs. recon I would be happy at 168lbs.
I have a bit of a mental block when it comes to loosing weight because I lost 4 1/2 stone when I was about 27 and my previous husband then left me for another woman. I was slim when I met him.
I was slim when I met my current husband too and have gradually put all the weight back on and with a lot of interest. We both like to eat and also to drink.
We have just got back from holiday and it was only really the mirrors in the hotel rooms that made me realise how out of control I've got.
I am now feeling really low.
I've made an appointment to see the nurse at our Doctors for Tuesday, don't know what I am hoping to achieve by that, maybe just a quick health check but also would like some support which is also why I have come here.
Oh I measure about 5ft 5 1/2.
Last time I lost the weight I wasn't working and didn't really have any financial restraints so I was able to swim twice a week, go to aerobics twice a week and do exercises at home every day. I also took 'slimming tablets' something I wouldn't want to do again as they made me very moody (probably why he went off with someone else)LOL.

welcome to the forum :)

Hi Noeline,
Welcome to the forum. It's a great place to be for advice and motivation. You and I are similar in that we are both 5' 5 and half inches and weigh about the same. Do you have a plan of action? That's the best place to start. Even just walking around the block to get started is something. Something that is helping me is a diary/food journal. I write down everything I eat and what exercise I do each day and it helps keep me accountable. Here is the link if you are interested in starting one:

Glad you are here!

I have to agree with PastelRoses, a plan of action is a good place to start. I have started a food diary, the journaling is very motivating because it holds you accountable. There is also a stickied thread with a series of questions that are good to answer. Not to mention all the other stickies on the forum, very useful information to be had.

Good luck and I’ll see you around the forums
