Hi everyone i'm new on here my name is Tammy and I am trying to find out as much information about the Balloon. I have tried various diets and no matter how hard I try on them I lose 9 lb then can't lose anymore. My mum had a gastric bypass in october and has lost 7 stone but i'd rather not have that done as i have two young girls and worry about the younger one being without me while in hospital.

hi tammy i had a balloon on the 18th of june no op as such but i am being sick all the time i have lost 2 stone in 5 weeks and have not been able to lose weight for ten years so i would recommend it sue

My best friend weighed 15 stones when she got the baloon fitted - she now weighs 9 stone 11 lb.

Im booked in to get mine inserted at manchester on 30th august so i will keep you all posted on how it works

I would be happy if i lost 2 stone it doesn't matter what diet i do i olny lose 9lbs i've got a dietician but she's not hekping its just a waste of time seeing her. Keep on loosing and i hope the sickness stops soon. Tammy

I'm glad your friend has lost all that weight did she have to do plenty od exercise with it or was she just watching what she was eating? Good luck with your balloon.

HI I HAD MY BALLOON FITTED 3 WEEKS AGO AND I CAN SAY ITS GREAT!!
FIERST 3 DAYS WERE VERY HARD BUT I GET DRUGS FROM MY CLINIC AND THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL!
I WAS EATING EVERY 2 HRS 2 SPOONS OF SOUP OR YOGHURT TO KEEP ME GOING AND MY STOMACH BUSY.
AFTER 3 WEEKS I LOST 6 KILOGRAMS I THINK 8 KILOGRAMS ITS 1 STONE SO ITS OK.
SICKNES STOPS AFTER 4 DAY AND NOW ITS REALY GREAT!
IN MY CASE KEY WAS LITLLE FOOD EVERY 2 HRS.

I've asked three different doctors now and they all say i'm not heavy enough so i'm gonna see about changing doctors to the ones my mum is at as they push everything through really quick i'll let you know what happens.

I am new to the forum and I am researching the gastric balloon. I see a few people have used the National Gastric Balloon Centre. What is their support like? It seems to me that they offer more than just the balloon as they follow you up for 1 year. Can anybody tell me about their experience there? Can anybody recommend other reputable clinics in the UK? I think going abroad to have it fitted would be cutting corners and some of the aftercare from the Czech clinics seems non-existent. Is it worthwhile paying the extra?

The weight loss people experience seems fantastic but I think the difficult part is after the removal. Anybody has any experience or knows how people get on after the balloon is removed?

Another question, I have always found it difficult to be sick (no matter how bad my stomachache is!) and I was wondering whether this will be an advantage or disadvantage for the early days after the insertion?

Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

I know how it feels to not be able to lose the weight. This balloon sounds like something you should really research first which you are. I wish you all the luck!
