It's time

OK - here's my long winded intro, I've replied to a couple other threads with most of it, so you might have already read some of this, especially since most is cut & pasted.
I'm 32, had my daughter just before I turned 20 and I weigh more now than I did the day I gave birth!!
I was always around 130-135 lbs, and was between a size 3 & 5. I worked out 5x a week in high school and since my favorite machine was the leg press, I had huge muscular thighs and a small waist.
I gained 36 lbs during pregnancy and never lost it. Over the years I've yo-yo'd between 170 and 180, but a couple years ago I hit my highest - 202.
I was hospitalized for a few days with a massive ear infection. Being sick jumpstarted some weight loss, and bad breakup a few months later helped even more. I got down to about 164 last summer. But then I got comfortable in a new relationship and started to put it back on.
I just jumped on the scale and found out that I'm back up to 196!!
I just can't take it anymore. I'm tired of being like this. I get winded going up the stairs to my bosses office, and even upstairs to my apartment!! My hips are giving me problems, my back aches and my knees are terrible. I know I'm going to need both knee and hip surgery in the next couple years (massive deterioration in the hip - probs since birth, had surgery when I was 3 months old!) so I know they're going to tell me that I need to bring my weight down first. Figure I'd get a jump start on it so maybe I can put it off a few more years until my 12 year old is at least driving and able to get herself to and from school & dance practice!
I'm going to use all of you here. Yes, I'm finally going to be a selfish user damn it!! I'm going to use you like you've never been used before - for inspiration. I've read a few threads and seen what ya'll have done and I'm ready to do it to! Wish me luck!

Red face Good luck!!

I know exactly where you're at. I had a baby girl 9 months ago and gained 40pounds. I was already overweight when I got pregnant so that just added to it. After I had my baby I looked in the mirror and cried. I had fat just hanging off of me. I decided to do all I could to get back to my starting weight. My husband and I started weight watchers- which worked great. Now we have begun to work out and just recently started jogging. I never would have known I had it in me. Believe me, if I can do it you can! I just started by eating healthy foods and watching my portions. Once a week I have a "cheat meal" to splurge. I do weights every other day and walk/jog on the other days. I have lost 60 pounds in 9 months. I look and feel like a whole new person. Just start gradually so you don't get burned out or injured. Good Luck!!!!!
