Looking for support

Hello all!
Well my name is Amanda, I'm 21 years old, full-time student and work 2 jobs.. I like to stay busy..

Anyways, I've decided to start yet another diet and this time I'm not giving up until the pounds are off!! I've struggled with my weight my whole life.. in high school I got down to about 165lbs.. I felt good than but being in high school -- just an age thing I guess -- I still thought I was fat.. Now I've been looking at old photos and realized I looked good.. and wonder how I ever myself get this way.. I don't even look like the same person anymore..

When I moved away for college I gained about 20 lbs --happens to us all-- and I stayed around 185lbs until I was 19 and I put on about 60lbs in about 8 months, the doctors ran test and found out I have hypothyroidism.. but now I'm on meds and it stopped me from gaining weight, now it's just hard to lose it.. But I'm not going to let that stop me this time!!

I've tried numerous diets over that past 3 or 4 years but I always give up.. or let something else get in the way of it... (but what's more important than your health?) I lived with 2 other girls for a couple years and it's really hard to diet when you live with sticks... but transfered school and have new living arrangements so it should be much easier!

I recently tried 6 week body makeover.. and believe me its works (I lost 30 lbs in about 4 weeks) but it's too restrictive...and almost impossible to do with my schedule.. but I gained every single pound back plus ten! So here I go again! I'm doing weight watchers now.. it's my first week.. I'm on day 3 and so far so good.. and it's going to stay that way..

My goals.. I weigh 240lbs now and want to get to 140lbs or 150lbs (whatever puts me in a size 8) I don't want to be a stick, I still want curves. I still want my boobs, hips, and butt -- give a smaller version.. lol

So I'm on here looking for support--people to talk to and help me out when I want to give up-- So I hope I've come to the right place! Also which threads would you recommend posting it in after my intro?

Thanks for listening,
Amanda

Hey Amanda!

"I lived with 2 other girls for a couple years and it's really hard to diet when you live with sticks"

Ahhh I totally agree!!!

I'm pretty new here myself but it seems like a great place so far.

What are you doing for exercise and what's your diet like?

Yes!!! One of my roommates was less than 100lbs and the other was 120ish.. and they could eat anything and not gain a lb! But oh well, and yes the last time I tried to diet I was on a forum and it seemed to help soo much.. more people supporting me and actually understanding what I was going through.. and the diet.. its weight watchers.. I can eat anything as long as I stay within my daily points.. which is 28 pts.. but an example of typical day..

breakfast-- usually grapefruit or cereal..
am snack--i usually have yogurt..
lunch-- sandwich on wheat and wheat-thins.
afternoon snack-- yogurt or fruit
dinner-- weight watcher frozen dinner or soup

I drink lots of water! I need more veggies though.. and exercise has not started yet.. I just started monday.. so im doing one step at a time.. but i plan on walking everyday soon, im no where close to be able to run yet.. i plan on starting w a mile everyday and then increasing as my body allows.. but I'm still going to push myself each time..
