Hello! Recovering sugar addict checking in...

Hi, just found this site, and it seems like a great community so I thought I'd say hello. I've been battling the bulge since I was 14 - I'm 27 now and it's been a long yo-yo'ing fight.

Sugar is my weakness. Chocolate. Ohhhh, chocolate. I've been on my current (and hopefully last) 'diet' for nearly 8 months now. I haven't had any chocolate, but I've substituted cereal bars and light chocolate popcorn/frozen chocolate desserts instead. Feels like cheating, but anything that stops me from demolishing an entire box of truffles has to be a good thing!

I don't know how much weight I've lost because I stopped weighing myself years ago. Yes, I'm an avoidant wuss, but I prefer to just take my measurements and go by how my clothes fit. So far I've taken 12 inches off my hips. I feel like I've hit a bit of a plateau at the moment, though, and with Christmas I feel slightly rocky times are ahead. I'd like to shed another couple of inches, but it's very slow work. My daily calorie intake has crept up to about 1500 a day. I don't do any official workouts because I'm a lazy gym-phobic, but after losing some weight I feel like I move around a lot quicker and get more physical stuff done.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself! I'm Lisa, by the way.

Hi Lisa

Welcome to the forum. I'm a newbie too, it's nice to meet you.

I know what you mean about loving sugar, especially chocolate! That's my main problem too!

I'm really envious of you not wanting to weigh yourself. Sometimes for me it's an obsession.

Hope all is ok with you and hope to hear lot from you on the site.

Take care

Jeanette
