Hello to All!

Hi everyone!..

I am new to this forum… but I will be a regular, I guarantee it.
I am NEEDING support more than I ever have in my life.

I have given up all the “fads” crazy diets, “food combining”, “cleansing”, “detoxing”.”Very Low Carb”, etc.. for my methods of weight loss.. and I am back to the one thing that I KNOW works, everything in moderation.

A little about me I guess.. I am a long time dieting veteran. I have lost and regained weight over and over, the same 50 now, three times in the last 6 years. And once almost 100 pounds (of course it’s back).

The only thing that ever really worked for me for long term was constant focus (counting calories) and constant exercise.

I know this, but it’s so incredibly hard to stay focused (for me) as I am NOT good with structure and regimen.

I am now 20 pounds shy of gaining it all back again and have been trying things that again don’t work.. of late it was a veggie and fruit juice fast, which in reality I KNOW is healthy for short periods of time, but it set me off into the worst case of binging in years. I don’t do well with feelings deprivation either, even though I KNOW I was getting plenty of nutrients, mentally I felt like I was punishing myself..

What I HAVE learned about me lately, I HAVE to have protein at every meal, the most important being breakfast.

I will need (and I will give) lots of support. I think I have done all the diets out there and can relate to just about anyone. So thankful that every day is a new beginning.

Good luck to each of you for a healthy and happy day.
Cary~

Think of this not as a diet, but as a lifestyle change. What you do now will have to continue for most of your life. After I lose my weight, I plan on body building some.

Hey Gator,

Nice to meet you.
Absolutely, I am going back to what I know works. Anything I want to eat, in moderation (have to count calories to keep myself real for a while, but usually only for a month or so until I get my routine back in swing).

Exercise.. I back to walking 45min every AM till that is easy for me, then whatever turns me on later. I used to love kickboxing and yoga.

Thanks for the post!
Cary~

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I have 2 close friends that are personal trainers. Even if it's just motivation to get up off the couch... I even need that sometimes lol.

Hiya and welcome

Hello there,
You sound like you know what works for you, I am no good at structure either but I know that I need to focus all my energies on getting some, I have 2 days now that are booked up with friends and exercise and whether I like it or not I have to stick to it because I dont want to let myself down. After losing 6 Ib I am desperate to get to a stone, so I am considering doing a aqua aerobics class because I am getting to enjoy the keep fit factor. Remember there are no magic potions just pure graft, I think you will get plenty of support on this forum, so go for it.
