Rep Power: 0 | | Okay i don't know weather i should be here... hey all.
Welll as you might see from my profile, i'm quite young. I have a big occasion called my school prom later this year as i am leaving High School and moving on to college. Althought i would not be classed as, "Overweight" and my weight seems very small, i don't fell small and need to shift a few more pounds before the ocassion. I've come here looking for support and tips ^^
My stats:
age: 15
weight: 8 st 8 (aka 120 lbs)
height: 157 cm
The appear larger because i am quite big cheasted (natural ) i would also love to shift some of that too, if there is a way.
Hope you can kinda accept me in.

Im quite new too, and everyone here is really nice and supportive!
It sounds like you are a pretty decent weight for your height, so i wouldnt go mad with the weight loss (Make sure you dont cut out important foods - teenagers are still growing people!) Pilates is a great way to tone up the body, and a lot of my friends did it before their prom! (im going to start a course in a few weeks myself actually).
Obviously there are other options too!
do you have a prom dress yet? Proms are so fun.. i want another one |

Rep Power: 0 | | Its kind of like yoga - does a lot of body stretching and toning!
i do sit ups and leg lifts too, but im kinda hoping pilates will give me more variation!
You can get dvds and videos of it to do at home, and some people use equipment to help them - but i havent being a beginner!
Maybe ask at your local gym - they'll give you a better explanation than my pathetic attempt hehe.
But yeah, if you are doing exercises at home im sure you are well on your way!
I'm trying to sell my prom dress on ebay at the mo! its too big for me now and ive only worn it once! hehe so if any of your size 16 friends want a beautiful black prom dress from monsoon you know who to come to hehehe |

xoxo | I would say 110-120 is very slim, but since you're 5'2", you have my blessing as long as you keep it over 100lbs. I hope you meet your prom goals and welcome |

Hey Becky, What do you mean by "shift?" While I'm certinly no expert on the subject, is it safe to assume you mean to shift "UP?"
Try taking deep breaths through your nose, you should feel your lung cavity expand and crotract and by extention, the muscles in your chest.
Push ups are a great place to start. they can help tighten up the upper pecks. (the area on the chest closest to the shoulder). Plus you can do them in the privicy of your own bedroom. Remember to do between 15 and 25 reps a day. but no more as you risk overexerting yourself. It's ok if you need to start with your knees bent, or on the ground.
Bench press is another good exercise, but usually requires a gym or a brother who owns a weight set. Try this, Lay flat on the floor, bend you knees if you want, and use a broom. Just get those muslces used to moving. remember to breathe. The probelm with the bench press is that when your useing the broom method, once your muslces get use to moving and you want to add weight your up the creek without a paddle becouse you have no weight to add.
There is also some good yoga posistions that can help tighten your chest You might feel silly using them at first, But Hey if you think a 15 year old girl would look silly doing yoga, try and picture a 40 year old overweight man doing yoga. its worth a good laugh.
All that being said, The absolutle best thing you can do is research the subject and try different things. Don't exect immediate results and don't give up, you can do it. then again, you could always buy one of those push-up bras my wife sewars by... | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
