I have been reading posts from this forum for 2 weeks and have found the posts to be very encouraging and informative. I have never posted on forums before but am doing so today because at halfway through my weight loss journey, I just found out that the BMI range of healthy weight for asians is a mere 22.9 upper limit (I am asian). This means that instead of the 1 kg loss I thought I needed to reach the BMI of 25, I have another 6 whole kgs to lose to reach a healthy BMI for Asians! I thought I'd add a post today to give myself a boost and hopefully will be more motivated to stick to my weight loss program. Cheers and thanks for reading this post!
BMI for Asians! Lower than for Caucasians! Post #2 (permalink)
That sucks to be so close to your goal only to find out that you have farther to go. But you can do it!!! Just stick with whatever you have been doing and you will get there before you know it!!!

Oh my gosh - I've been reading for a little while now too but have never posted - I'm also Asian and I just about died when I read this post - well, I have been thinking about readjusting my goal weight!
Thanks for the posting!

BMI for Asians! Lower than for Caucasians! Post #4 (permalink)
Well, we're in it together! Hard to imagine that the change of a few digits on the BMI scale translates to so many additional kilograms and lbs. The reason for this is that studies have found that asians have greater fat content. So the risk of developing any weight related health problem is increased at BMI over 22.9. Well good luck! You've come this far already!
