Had my daughter mid-december, I gained an obscene amount of weight during my pregnancy. I am 6'1 and 213 lbs as of this morning (was 260+ when I went in the hospital to deliver). My short term goal is to get back to ONEderland.... long term goal will be around 175 lbs.
I am BFing and it seems like my body is in starvation mode because of it. It's been hard losing weight, I think for a while I wasn't eating enough. Now, I am trying to eat around 2000 calories a day (for those that don't know, breastfeeding itself burns about 500 calories a day) and my diet consists of lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, veggies and light dairy. I only drink skim milk and water (okay, the occasional caffeine free diet coke).
I am walking atleast 2 miles a day and trying to get on the elliptical for 30+ minutes at a pop atleast 3 days a week. I play 2 softball games every Monday night and I am going to start my Tae-Bo bootcamp DVD as soon as I get in a little better cardiovascular shape.
My baby just turned 6 months old. I have the same problem with trying to get off pregnancy weight so I know how you feel. Work hard and wonderful things will happen. That is what I tell myself.
