Desparately Seeking Motivation.

Hi

I'm new to the form but not new to the weight loss fight. Here is a little bit about me and my plight. I have pretty much struggled all of my life with weight. I started out when I was about 13 with 20 lbs to lose. I lost those but as you all know they always come back if you do not know how to maintain the loss. Of course those 20lbs came back with those cursed extra few. I eventually lost it all again and maintainted it for about 2 years but eventually I fell back into my old routines of fast food and very little exercise. I turn 32 in 8 days and I don't want to be this weight when I turn 33.

I lost about 40 about 8 years ago I gain and lose and gain and loose but never lose more that what I gained the previous time. I watched my weight slowly creep up and over the 200 mark and then I got pregnant and gained even more. I have never felt so out of control as I do right now.

I have since lost 10lbs and desparately want to keep going but I just can't seem to muster up the motivation and stick-to-it-ive-ness. It is as though I have absolutely no will power. I have turned to this website and this form for support.

You know the funny thing is that I know how to loose weight and could write a book but I just can't seem to get the ball rolling. I lasted a month and lost 10lbs but I've got a long way to go.

I would just love to hear some words of encouragement and support.

You lost 10 pds this past month?? WOW! thats great!! The thing about dieting, and no one wants to hear it, but it takes time! Sometimes alot of time, but just keep at it every day and you'll get there!!

Ok, I wrote you a long reply before but it was killed because someone moved the thread to the different section.

Anyway, great on your loss! I agree with NB. You need to find what really motivates you and you need to find the lifestyle changes that you can make and stick with for the rest of your life. Make the changes slowly and one at a time. Weight loss is a long journey, but you can do it. People here will give you all support you need. Good luck!
