Some of us visit the new posts and then respond to them later when we have time. Some of us didn't see this the first time around. Sometimes the "views" are search engines logging the site and not real members. And yes, some members pop in, don't find a question to answer and leave again.
Give it more than a couple of hours.
So that said, welcome to the forum. |

Rep Power: 85 | | It is lucky that you mentioned UK in the title or I would not have popped in. Bumping your own thread in most of the sections (except possibly diaries) in my experience works against people. It looks like someone has already been in to welcome you or answer your query. Quite a few people look specifically for those with no replies before looking in.
Welcome. Good luck with your WW meeting.
I see that you have started a diary which is a good move. In order to make friends and thus build your support network - you need to interact with a fair few people. You cannot just sit there and hope that people will decide to look in on your diary.
If anyone looks in on your diary - visit them back and see how things are going for them. If you can - give them advice if they have a problem. You may want to copy a few of their ideas. It may be that they will visit you back again and a friendship develops. I have made some very close friends in my time on the forum.
Visit a few of the active diaries. The date and time of last posting is given so you will see that all the ones on the first few pages are pretty active one way or another. You dont really want to leave messages for people that left a year ago... See if they visit you back - and if they do you can visit them again.
Other newcomers will be looking to make friends themselves - so you may want to welcome a few of the other newcomers here yourself.
Joining clubs and challenges are good for making friends. Generally - you get more out of the forum if you put more into it...
I swear - on the way down my diary was a veritable forum party a lot of the time... You cannot imagine how many people popped into my diary on the big milestones (like half my start weight 10.5 stone down from 21 stone). |
