New and ready to lose weight

I am 30 years old, I weigh 140 lbs, and am 5' 4". I have a neuromuscular disease so I cannot do high intensity exercises because of muscle weakness. I can walk, though I use crutches to keep from going off balance. I do go swimming three times a week as part of my physical therapy. I also love sweets - but my husband is big on the Abs3 diet and lost 17 lbs several years ago. However he doesn't practice it as much anymore, because his weight is healthy.

I want advice on what I should aim for: reduce calorie intake, reduce simple sugar carbohydrates, reduce fats, increase fiber, or what. It is important for me to lose weight because if I got bigger, my muscle weakness would restrict my mobility.

I just talked to my husband and he said he will support me with the Abs3 diet if we want to do it. That diet calls for eating 6 times a day, with each meal drawing from as many of their 12 food groups as possible, with one cheat meal a week. I guess portion sizes is something we need to control too.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I dont have any suggestions, but I shall say hi and welcome.

You may want to start a diary if you havent, its good for support, giving and recieving.... and journaling is an all out healthy thing to do. I hope your husband and you both reach your goals...
