NEWBIE advise needed

I am new here and have jsut started a new exercise program and I am hoping someone here can help me out with a few questions I have.
I am female approx 5'2 and 150 pounds. Since quiting smoking on 10-17-2003 I have put on a good 30+ pounds and I am now looking to get rid of it. I recently joined my local gym and working the following program:
6 days a week
30 minutes on eliptical ( approx 330 calories burned)
20 minute fitness circuit (put together by the gym it alternates cardio/weights every 30 seconds) it has approx 14 weight stations & then 14 cardio stations as well.
My question is, is this a good program for me and how soon should I start to see results.
As far as my eating goes - I eat pretty healthy
nothing fried / lots of chicken & broiled fish (no butter)
skim milk - lots of salad with fat free dressing
lots of fruits & veggies as well
I am more of a fat/calories counter than a carb counter.
Any advise I can get would be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations on quiting smoking. Great Job. That is awesome that you enrolled in a gym and on an excercise program. You are eating healthly. I really can't answer your question except that don't expect results overnight and stay patient. I lack that sometimes with my weight loss. Just remember it will take time. Good Luck and keep up the great job!

Thanks for the encouragement. I know the weight wont melt off overnight (eventhough it did seem to come on that way) so I do plan to be patient and hope that I see some postive results even if small after 2 months. I am really liking my workouts and jsut hope I do not lose interest!

Welcome and congrats on kicking the habit

I think you should start seeing results fairly soon, but like you said yourself, they will probably be small. Also remember that you are probably going to develop muscle, which is smaller, but much heavier than fat...so don't get discouraged if the scale doesn't move as much as you would like, but also check your appearance in the mirror and how your clothes fit
