My name is Magsi, I am very happy to have found this forum!
I have been researching weight loss surgery but ended up changing my mind about halfway through with the pre op program. I decided that I am still young and strong and I can do this on my own. All I need is strength, a good hunger supressant and new friends to encourage me! What better place than here?
I hope that with the support of this forum I will be able to reach my mini goal of weighing 245lbs by November 1st.
If there are any experienced dieters who know of a good way to kick start a diet to get motivated, please share your tips!
Thanks in advance!!

Welcome!! I think the best way to look at your 'diet' is to see it as a lifestyle change and not a diet. I think the word 'diet' brings images of denial, suffering, etc... but changing your life to make it more healthy doesn't sound so bad.
Modify your food choices, do some exercise and I'm sure the weight will come off.
Good luck!!

Welcome!
If I had a piece of advice to offer to help you get started I would say excersize and planning. If you plan your meals, etc ahead, there's less temptation and guessing! Looking forward to seeing you reach your first goal!

Hey Magsi,
Good luck reaching your goal. I know you can do it because you seem very determined and I'm glad you decided to try doing it yourself instead of surgery. I had thought of surgery too, but decided like you that I would try losing it myself first. Keep going hon.
