Hello. My name is Amy. I am new to this forum and I'm hoping it is an active one!
I, along with my husband, am trying to lose a significant amount of weight. I'm looking at losing about 165 pounds and my husband has a bit more (not exactly sure how much for him).
I have tried all of the fad diets I could come up with and they have never worked for me. Mostly because they were never something I could see myself doing for the rest of my life. I had results with them but they just weren't long term.
We have adopted a strict vegetarian way of life. We are eating no meat, and avoiding eggs and dairy as much as possible. This choice was for health first and also because of our love of animals. We are experimenting with new foods all of the time. It has been a delicious and fun adventure. I have lost 15lbs and my husband has lost 20lbs so far (about 5 weeks in).

I'm vegetarian myself. I really did lose a good amount of weight at the beginning. Although, weight loss wasn't what I was going for. I still eat shellfish and dairy products.
