Rep Power: 0 | | | Nice to meet you, + Question Hi my name is Lisa. I'm new here. I'm going to lose 40 to 50 pounds this year. For good!!! I'm going to do it the old fashion way, eat sensibly, control portions, and exercise more. I want to lose it for my health, so I look better and feel better. I want my husband to look at me like he used to... lustfully (hope that's not too much information!) Anyway, I'm going to be 50 on my next birthday in October, and I want to look great.
I live in Washington State, USA; have 4 grown kids, one grandchild, two dogs and three cats. When weather permits, my dogs are very good walking partners and prompt me to go on long vigorous walks. But, it rains alot up here, so many days I do my walking on my treadmill. My goal is to walk 45 to 60 minutes per day, and do strength training for 20 to 30 minutes on 4 days a week. Right now, I walk for 20 minutes a couple days a week and do 10 minutes of muscle building maybe twice a week. Unless I take the dogs for a walk and then it's a good 45 minutes, they won't settle for less.
I'm glad I found this forum, although it moves rather fast so it's hard to keep up. How many active members does it have? Where are people from? It seems like members are from all over the globe? What is Cohen's lifestyle? |

I am trying to lose the last 50 lbs but I am hoping to do so by
March with lot's of exersicing and eating 1200-1300 calories a

it's tonya here, and i'm in the seattle area. i was just mentioning to another newb that in our area, it's so easy to cover up with sweaters and raincoats, and hide the extra weight. my husband still looks at me the same way he used to, but the problem is, i don't feel attractive like i used to when i was thinner. good luck to you, keep me posted on your success!!

Thank you Tonya and Tammy for the warm welcomes. Tammy, I'm planning on more exercise too. I know that's what works for me, and it's a big reason why I put on the weight... I stopped working out and became a couch potato over the last few years. Well, it's time to change that!
Tonya, how true about the sweaters and jackets up here, except in summer there is no hiding. Last summer I wore big t-shirts a lot.
