Texas guy wanna say Hi

Hi everyone,

Don't really join forums, but I found this one is pretty uplifting. I find it very hard to be motivated to lose weight by oneself. My heaviest was at 230 lbs, that was back in 1998, while back and now at 195 lbs. I want to get down to 170 lbs with body definition. I joined 24 hour fitness a year ago, but find it difficult to keep going, and the workout partners I had doesn't like to attend regularly. If anyone lives near me and would like to workout together (on a regular basis) please speak up. I see the before and after pictures of the members here and it's a motivating factor and I welcome all inputs on how to get the poundage off.

Welcome! It is very aggrivating when you get used to a workout partner and he bails on you and it normally leads to having to change up your schedule when you get a new one.

As far as shedding them last few pounds, it is going to come down to the diet. As long as the diet is clean and you stick to the weight training ans some cardio, you should be good to go. Best of luck to you!

Welcome!
If I was near I'd workout with you, I don't have anyone who wants to go either. Guess it'll just be me and my trusty ol ipod for awhile.

Good luck!

Hi TIinTX,
Welcome to the WLF!

I think Falco is right - those last few pounds seem to come down to diet and cardio. The strength training will tone up what you have

Remember, motivation comes from within - and can be reached regardless of who is at your side at the gym.

Do YOU want this for YOU or for a work out buddy? It is helpful to have someone to be with, to feel like you're held accountable - but know more importantly, if you're doing this for yourself, then it's yourself who is holding you accountable.

You've done a good job keeping off that extra weight from before, you can DEFINITELY reach your current goals

Best of luck,
