I just joined too & I can relate! I weighed 125lbs from 11yo til I started having kids. I never really lost the baby weight & over the last several years I've been slowly putting on the pounds. Around Halloween I weighed 183! I've lost about ten ponds since then & want to lose 30-40 more.
Good Luck to both of us! |

I've been lurking here for a couple months & finally decided to join. All of your stories, advice & especially the before & after pics are so inspiring- I've been reading the posts here every morning to keep myself motivated. Seeing many of you losing 100+ lbs really puts the 30 lbs that I want to lose in a different perspective!
About my weight loss issues-
I never really struggled with my weight, I was always pretty thin until I had my 1st child. I gained a whopping 60lbs due to my own overeating and laziness during my pregnancy & didn't lose any of it, even breastfeeding. When we wanted to have another baby I decided to drop some weight so I wouldn't start another pregnancy so heavy. I managed to lose 30lbs in 3 months pretty easily, just eating a lot of salad and working out at home. I looked good after the birth of my 2nd baby, I weighed around 155lbs, but over the last 9 yrs the weight has crept back on and I'm finding it much more difficult to lose.
My body seems to be fighting to stay 180 lbs!
Around Halloween I put batteries in my scale (I hadn't weighed myself in over a year) and found out I was up to 183- my highest weight & what I weighed when I was 9mos pregnant!
Since then I've been counting calories and trying to stay within a range of 1200-1500 a day, but I haven't been working out like I should.
I've lost 11lbs & now weigh 172.
I've decided 2008 is going to be my year to lose all of it & get back down to somewhere around 145.. 135 would be nice, but I'm not sure if it's a realistic goal.
About me-
I'm a sahm in GA, I've been happily married to my highschool sweetheart for 13 yrs & we have 2 kids. I read a lot, like to go camping & the outdoors in general, hang out/entertain w/ friends, hate housework & play Oblivion when my dh or son aren't hogging the xbox. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | New to the site Hi all. I am new to this web site. I signed up because I need to "hang out" with like minded people and those with a similar goal as myself. I used to be in great shape, and it just got away from me. I keep telling myself I need to eat healthy and exercise, but I have a serious lack of motivation. So motivation is one of the big elements I am going to be looking for here. That and accountability. See, where I fall short is I binge when no one is looking. I am really looking forward to being able to focus on improving my health and seeing what everyone else is doing and what struggles you all might have as well. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | What I recommend before you start anything is do a colon cleanse before you diet. You can get like a psyllum husk powder and take it for about a week. You will get rid of at least 2 of more pounds in excess from this alone. When that is finished, you can start your diet regimen. Trust me it would make it a lot easier on you if you do the cleanse first. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | thanks for your post Hey, Thanks for the advice you pointed out one of my biggest problems and thats emotional eating. I have lost 24 pounds since august of 2007 but I always get thrown of track and can never seem to find my way back to the healthy eating and exercising.. its like a rollercoster ride for me. |

Your body cleans itself out perfectly without the help of silly gimmicky diets designed to line the pockets of the people who create them. |

Rep Power: 866 | | Hi! My name is Joanne and I'm so struggling to lose weight! I keep on starting a diet and then I'll end up messing it up and eating more because I feel like I've missed out. This forum seems like it's going to be very helpful to me I will post pictures of my weekly progress and hopefully will also be one of the success stories on here |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hello to all.
I am not sure if this will work, but hey here goes.
Um now that I have to say something I can't think of where to start.
I would like to lose 15 kg. I put heaps on since my daughter got married in October. We had a fire in an old house that was on the boundary of our property, and all the wedding gear was smoke damaged the DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING. Yeah. It sucked. But in spite of that the wedding day was beautiful. Since the fire, I have blossomed
I have finally made a start, but I have party for 60 guests in two days and have just blown it while I was making the trifal, and dips I dissapoint myself so much.
