I am currently trying to lose 63 pounds. I have been eating only three times a day for the past week and I only drink water and I run for 30 every day. I just want to know if i am starting the wrong way. My bf gave me this advice to help build my dicipline. I am aware of what is said about eating 5-6 small meals a day. I think I know what I have to do, but i am still usure. My goal is to lose from 1.5 to 2 pounds a week. What do you all think is the best thing for me to do? I don't want to waste any time. This is the summer and I want to take advantage of the extra time on my hands.
Hi, my name is Vince and I'm 57 and I need to lose about 60 pounds.
I'm breaking it into 20 pound chunks of weight loss every 30 days.
30 days might be pushing it but I'll start with that.
I'm going to blog everyday with what I do and what works.
I use an elliptical machine at home everyday for about 30 minutes.
I will go up to 45 minutes soon. Kind of boring, I find it easier to watch videos then listen to music.
A couple sets of push ups, arm circles, upper body tubing exercises and I swing a weighted golf club.
I'm also a private pitching coach and I throw long toss just about every day with my students (thus the arm circles and tube exercises).
For an appetite suppressant I'm using Caralluma Burn. I like it much better then prescription diet pills from my doctor. A couple of those each day do the trick. I take one at about 8 am or so then I take another around 3 pm.
I also bought a month of Nutrisystem. The idea of food prepackaged in the right calorie range appealed to me. It costs a few bucks but I would spend more going shopping and buying all the crap. Pull out the meal, nuke it and I'm set. The only drawback I see is you have to add the fresh veggies and fruit. I just stay out of the potato chip aisle when I'm shopping.
The meals are set up to eat 4 or 5 per day. I think it makes a lot of sense.
Ill take all of the support I can get. Follow me along at

I just started it, might take a day or 2 to start working.

I don't know if you are on birth control but a side effect of some forms of birth control causes you to hold on to extra fat. Other than that, I would say be patient. Give yourself at least 12 months to lose all the weight. It's a lifestyle change. Another thing you could do is cut out all the processed food and buy things like fruit, salads, lean meats etc. There's lots of healthy and sustainable ways to lose weight and stay slim,it just depends on what your preference is.

Hi, I learned from a new diet program that I started a few weeks ago to start using dumbells while exercising and it has really helped me to lose weight that I've never been able to lose before on other diets. Of course I'm also following their nutrition program which is also helping me lose the weight. I started off with using 5 pound dumbells.

Actually thats untrue. The only thing birth control has ever done is SLIGHTLY lower your metabolism and make some people more peckish.
You get fat from eating too much, not exercising and not being healthy, not from birth control.
I weighed myself today and have never weighed this much. I fooled myself thinking I was doing well. The numbers don't lie. I don't want to make excuses but after 50 years of age....it gets hard. Any advice from fellow fifty+ members would be appreciated. I think this is a good time to get it going. The weather is great for any exercising activity and all the produce available can only help. Come on you cheerleaders! Pump me up!
