Rep Power: 0 | | | Looking for help to lose those last pounds I'm 5 foot 6 and weigh 154. Im not overweight or ne thing but Im kinda flabby. I run 1.5 miles a day and lift weights. Im a pretty healthy eater and only eat junk food one day a week. My goal weight is 138, but I can't seem to lose ANYTHING. Do I need to run more or lift more? Any advice would be great! |

Welcome to the WLF
What's your diet look like calorie-wise? Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople is a good site for recording your calories so that you can get a good and honest look at what you're bringing in.
If the calories aren't the issue - you might up the cardio - having 45 minutes daily is ideal - then weight/strength train on alternating days.
Good luck - I've heard so often how difficult those last pounds are to get off - but you CAN get them off. It's consistency!
Good luck! |

Rep Power: 0 | | I don't think Im taking in too many calories. I eat oatmeal and a half grapefruit without sugar for breakfast, a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread and a salad for lunch. My dinner is the only meal I dont control. I still live at home so Im stuck eating what my stepmom fixes and it's never really that healthy. Usually, its really easy stuff that u can just throw in the deep fryer. Throughout the day I snack on celery, baby carrots, and grapes. Do u think the dinner has something to do with it? If not, I'll up the cardio. I lift weights everyday but I alternate between upper and lower body. |

Rep Power: 83 | | With your overall diet, I wouldn't think that the dinner alone is what's keeping you from losing. Although, is *everything* deep fried? Your overall diet and snacks looks good.
I would think then that your cardio would need to be upped - You're only running 1.5 miles...how long does that take you? Keeping your heart rate up for an extended amount of time (45 minutes) is ideal for fat burning. The weight training isn't for losing, it's for toning what you have |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Is it better to walk fast, or run in order to lose weight? It only takes me 15 minutes to run. Not everything is fried. We always have hot dogs and french fries or hamburgers and french fries. Or we might have fried chicken and fried potatoes. Occasionally, she will let me tell her what to make and we will have grilled chicken and green beans or something. Do u think it would be better if I started doing Tae Bo again? I used to do it about a year ago when I first wanted to lose weight. It's too hard for me to do it now becuz my grandparents moved in and we always have a house full of people. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
